Meet Kerrie Fitzgerald | Kerrie Fitzgerald: E-commerce & Product Based Business Educator and Marketing Strategist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kerrie Fitzgerald and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kerrie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started my very first business back in 2016- a high end e-commerce and subscription box business called The Dapper Dog Box. There was virtually ZERO mentors, coaches, courses or support I could find when I was both starting and trying to grow my online shop. I struggled so much trying to “figure it all out” and ended up wasting so much of my time, energy and money. I ended up selling that business in 2019 and after I sold the business I knew I wanted to create the resources and education for e-commerce and product-based businesses that I wish I had access to when I had my first business. I was so uber passionate about making product-based business owners feel like they had resources and a roadmap for the product world because honestly, there isn’t a lot out there for product businesses.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Kerrie Fitzgerald LLC is an e-commerce and product-based business consulting & educational agency. I help e-commerce businesses create “Wildly Visible” brands that their customers are obsessed with, stemming from a unique framework in organic marketing that brings in consistent sales and traffic without focusing a dime on ads. Between my courses, coaching and podcast, The 6 Figure Product Business Podcast, I have created a true community for my e-commerce community.
What sets me apart is that I focus on growing an e-commerce brand without spending any money on ads. Most mentors or educators focus almost exclusively on helping their clients and students grow their business through ads and I actually focus on FREE growth. I also love helping businesses understand the importance of being”obsessed with their customers” and when you are obsessed with your customers, you in turn will create a insanely loyal community who will buy from you again and again but will promote you to all their friends and followers- another visibility tactic.
I got to where I am today through having a rock solid mindset and knowing that i will not quit, no matter what. When you take quitting off the table you show up in a better way for yourself and your business. It was certainly not a smooth road. After selling my first business and starting my current business, I struggled big time with starting over. I cracked the code on how to grow a product-based business but had no clue how to grow a service-based or coaching business. What really helped me was investing in masterminds, courses, anything to help me get to the next step.
I started my first business when my child was 6 months old and had gone through a bout of postpartum depression. My business helped give me a sense of purpose and control and I will always be grateful for that. I took my pain and turned into a business which has now developed into making such an impact in the product world. I get to help so many women turn their dreams into a reality and that is insanely rewarding.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Venice Beach is my absolute favorite area in LA. I would certainly be spending at least a day in Venice Beach. From eating at the Butchers Daughter and The Rose to visiting boutiques on Abbot Kinney Blvd and walking through all the canals.
Pacific Palisades: Porta Via Palisades is one of the best places in the area. A smoothie from Juicy Ladies is a MUST visit. Also the Pacific Palisades farmers market, will rogers state beach are super fun.
Malibu: El Matador State Beach is absolutely breathtaking~ and Malibu wine safari is not to miss. I mean wine and giraffes… whats not to love. Just driving around Malibu and looking at the gorgeous home and beaches is enough.
Santa Monica: Great for boutiques, seeing the pier, Bodega wine bar is a great place for wine.
Other faves in the LA area.
Howlin Rays- the BEST Hot chicken sandwiches. When I lived in Orange county, I used to drive up to LA just for this sandwich.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Amy Porterfield. My first investment was her Digital Course Academy course back in 2019 and it has completely allowed me to both help more people and make more impact but make passive income with online courses.
