We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Le and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kevin, what are you inspired by?
I believe that it is important to obtain inspiration in many forms, as well as from various different places. Depending on how you are inspired and what you are inspired by are driving factors in utilizing it to its fullest potential when working towards different goals. A key purpose driven inspiration for me is the revolutionary movement by Asian-Americans that help progress us into a more sought after spotlight, especially in Hollywood. Seeing milestones such as more Asian oriented movies surfacing while obtaining awards and Asian-American actors receiving recognition for their work are highly influential sources for inspiration for me as I work in the industry. That source of inspiration grants me a life purpose and pushes me to work in the industry with confidence and pride as I stop at nothing to be apart of the movement that shapes how the world sees Asian-American actors. Outside of the industry, I have my mother and my family as my source of inspiration and driving motivation for financial success. Watching from the side lines while my mother worked endlessly for the benefit of my siblings and myself, has been a source of inspiration that I tap into more times than I can remember. So often that I have made it a dream of mine to financially support my mother and provide her with a living situation that I believe she deserves in the near future. Hopefully granting her an environment where she can sit on the sideline as all of her children can come together to celebrate their success and endeavors. Career driven inspiration comes from the competitive energy from my close friends that are working in the same career or that have similar goals. Watching them making strides in their career constantly rekindles the fire within my passion. I am hoping that one day after we grow old together, we can look back at all of our achievements with a smile, laughter, and unwavering pride.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Growing up I felt a sense of purpose at a very early age. Recognizing my insuppressible need to express through art and creation shaped how I saw myself and the world around me. Several decades later I took a leap of faith and I am now a whole continent away from home, working as an Asian-American actor, stunt performer, and filmmaker. I love every part of it and cannot see myself happily spending my life doing anything else. Every stride I make in my career is fueled by a strong intention to be apart of the empowering movement that pushes Asian-Americans in a more sought after spotlight, especially in the film industry. I expected great things from myself as a kid, but I wish that my younger self could see me working in Los Angeles with individuals and teams that he admired. Not only that but also, working as an Asian-American actor in films and projects that have obtained over 3 millions views with love and support from viewers emphasizing how amazing they feel seeing an Asian-American lead. I am proud that my first ever film was accepted into the LA Acton Film Festival and premiered in a theater with a promising follow up film currently being created. The hardship of creating films and working in the industry is overshadowed by my excitement to showcase the world what I am capable of. I am also proud to have my work recognized by Voyage LA Magazine as a “Rising Star”. Each crushing challenge is met with a unweaving passion that fuels my mindset to adapt, overcome, and level up. I’ve learned more in my few years of working in LA in my passion than I ever have in my life, such as consistency, dedication, adapting, and kindness. I want the world to be on the lookout for the impact that my brand, story, and work will have towards this movement for Asian-Americans.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have considered Los Angeles, California to be a home for my heart ever since I was a young kid, decades before actually moving. I would always recommend the classic Los Angeles attractions to showcase its beauty such as the Hollywood walk of fam, the Hollywood sign trail hike, and the Griffith observatory that overlooks all of Los Angeles. For anyone that is not involved in the film industry I would definitely would take them to all of the major studios such as Universal Studios and Warner Brothers studios so that they may get a taste of what it is like in my world! Los Angeles is definitely home to spectacular food of all kinds, and I would showcase it by taking them to Grand Central Market and downtown. My go to restaurant for noodles has to be Noodle St in Pasadena. My goal is to make everyone love Los Angeles as much as I do.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My success and where I currently am in life is definitely thanks to my source of support and love. Needless to say, the acceptance, support, and unconditional love from my mother, Diem Duong, and my sisters, Jennette and Jennifer Le are driving factors for who I am today both inside and outside of my career. I would also like to pay recognition to my extended family members that support me. Being across the continent from family is definitely difficult but their support finds a way to me, and when it doesn’t then I have the emotional support of my closest friends to keep me elevated. I must thank my closest friends for unconditionally supporting and helping with my endeavors solely to see my success be achieved. As an Asian-American actor, traversing through the industry can be difficult and my friends at WDA Entertainment and Highpoint Commerce deserve credit for changing my “underdog” feelings into a strength. I would also like to thank the team from the movie “Everything Everywhere All at Once” for intensifying the passion in myself as well as other Asian-Americans within the Hollywood industry. Armed with all the support, love, and passion, I will make each and every one of you proud.
