We had the good fortune of connecting with Kharis Collins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kharis, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always known that I wanted to make something revolutionary, but also make a mark on the world. In 2020 God brought me the vision to start Khavy’. I believe in turning my pain into pleasure and I knew this was an avenue to take. I wanted to take the Du-rag and amplify it like never before and make it comfortable for many people around the world. Making this completely versatile for people with disabilities like Epilepsy and Cancer. This is set to bring the fashion world to another level as it is styled with both urban wear and casual wear with different collections.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
K.H.A.R.I.S which is abbreviated for Kind Hearts that Are Reaching out through Inspiration and Success is my brand and I am a full entertainer and entrepreneur. I am the proud Founder and CEO of Khavy’ Official LLC. and I just released an EP on all streaming platforms entitled “In a World Full of Color”, which represents a message of love, light, and positivity. Residing in NYC for a decade, I have fulfilled so much as an artist headlining and performing Off Boardway all around the city entitled “the KJCW project”, featured in hit shows like FX Pose, and doing Stand UP at The West End. The thing that sets me apart is my Authenticity, being able to go places and not being afraid to show my unapologetic self. I’m most excited about how My artistry is continuing to evolve and how I keep challenging myself to new heights. I got to where I am today by being fearless and by having faith. It has been challenging, but well worth the ride. I overcome my challenges by living my life, being inspired by it, and utilizing it in my work. I learned to be humble, trust your intuition, and trust that your dreams will come to fruition. I want the world to know that the K.H.A.R.I.S experience is like no other and that my aspirations in life will continue to touch so many in this life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would go have breakfast at Tiffany’s, have drinks at the Caldron, visit most landmarks as much as possible like Statue of Liberty of Central Park. I would check out a dope exhibit like Beat the Bomb which is an escape room in Brooklyn. Hang out at a Cypher in The Bronx and get Tacos at Tacos Veloz in Queens. NYC is a big place and so many places to visit so many people to see but those are some just to name a few.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out and acknowledge a few individuals. God first who is the head of my life for bringing me the vision. My mom Kesha for always being my rock and always believing in me. My aunt Mccoy for being super sharp whenever I have an idea. My best friend Cynthia B for helping me map things out when it comes to business and life. Amaurys Grullon for teaching me all about Business startups and doing graphic design. Noah Joseph for being an amazing tailor and educating me on fabrics and how they work. Charles Emmanuel Perry for taking the Khavy’ Official social media page by storm and to all my family and friends that support me along the way in my journey with this Brand.
