We had the good fortune of connecting with Khristian Foreman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Khristian, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Being committed. Everyday I do something to get me closer and closer to my goal of being a great person, great musician and an inspiration to the world.
Wether I’m working or resting I am committed to this journey and why I chose to commit keeps me determined & focused even in the worst of times. Have a why thats bigger than any obstacle this life will put up against what you desire to be attain success in.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a professional trombonist and bass trombonist. From my commitment to my instrument, commitment to music, soliciting peers, mentors and elders being curious & being coachable I was able to grow on my instrument and make a career out of it. It has not been easy and the challenges I’ve faced would cause anybody to quit but I’m committed and have learned a lot of lessons from it all. My biggest lesson has been go where you are celebrated and not tolerated. I feel like support is important as a creative and you need to deal with those that support and value you so you don’t get taken advantage of or mislead. I have so much more to learn but support and love helps while I continue to experience these challenges.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being in LA for the past 9 months heres a couple of my go tos:
Monday we gotta go to Gold-Diggers and Sofitel wether it be to hang or to jam with the bands there. If were hungry after we gotta slide to Bossa Nova!
If we ever want brunch my go to’s are The Griddle Cafe in Hollywood or The Serving Spoon in Inglewood
K Town has TOO MANY K BBQ spots to choose from but Road to Seoul has my heart so we would have to go there.
Citadel Outlets or Glendale Galleria we can shop!
We can check out the Canals in Venice or Hike to the Hollywood sign
We can take a picture in front of all the Kobe murals in LA
We can drive the PCH to Malibu and go eat some great sushi and Nobu
We can go to K1 in Burbank or Gardena and go kart race
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to all of the great people I have met in my life thus-far. Thank you so much for the experiences, support, lessons & encouragement.
