We had the good fortune of connecting with Killian Hough and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Killian, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose one because I love expressing myself and normalizing my own complexity through art. I don’t like to think of it like a career per se. I see it as a way I live and love.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am versatile in my art. I don’t really keep myself in a box, so my music spans across many genres. The film projects I choose to work on are also of varying mood and tone. I think that sets me apart from others because I am showing a lot of myself through art, rather than just a piece of me by staying in a single genre in order to sell or meet some sort of label standard, hence why I am not going to sign to a label as of now. I want to be my own boss for a while longer.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well first I would say we gotta go see some beaches in San Diego County. Then after one of those beach visits, I would have us go to my favorite spot to eat and drink, which is Pizza Port Brewery in Solana Beach.

In the LA area, I would definitely have us go to Santa Monica, Venice beach, and the third street promenade. I just love the environment in those places. There is so much creativity flowing through that area. Not to mention, I love the Dinosaurs of Santa Monica on third street. They are beautiful works of art.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my wife and all of the lovely people that collaborated with me on the visuals for my music this past year.
