We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberley Valerie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kimberley, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Personal Development, Healing and Serving Others.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from many others is that I went from a homeless foster kid, high school drop out to a multi-millionaire, owning multiple businesses, investing in real estate, and really creating a life I love and a financial model that supports the lifestyle I value.
I grew up in a low income family plagued by chaos, addiction, violence and crime. I was a victim of a horrendous beating (by my mothers boyfriend) that landed me in hospital for a while and then into foster care. I share this to show that I did not have anything given to me…I had no role model’s or family legacy to follow…but what I did get from that chaotic and harsh childhood was the ability to find success…my mother always said “money is available to everyone, you just have to go find it”. My childhood created my entrepreneurial mind. For that I am thankful. The lessons and healings from childhood has been a journey (including a bout with breast cancer) but I wouldn’t be me without them being them (my family).
My brand is really about EXPANSION – I believe that anyone can reach their goals/dreams, they just have to do the work to remove the barriers…sometimes its healing your soul to allow new mindsets to be birthed, sometimes its meeting new people to show you other paths, sometimes its the daily grind of showing up consistently to making your dream business/wealth story.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favourite things to do in my city include walking in the river valley, (especially in the fall) frequenting locally owned cafes and coffee shops and hanging out with my eight grandchildren!
I also like to take a short drive to the mountains a few times a year for a hike or two, some fun food and relaxing times!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are many people pivotal to my story, but if I had to choose a few they would be,
My Social Worker (from when I was 13-19) He was game changer
My Husband – His unconditional love and confidence in me has allowed me to grow in ways that I cannot even begin describe
The Urban Witch – for showing me the power of my subconscious mind, deep healing and possibilities.
