We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Romano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly, what is the most important factor behind your success?

Finding a rhythm that honored my energy. It’s a strategy most entrepreneurs don’t think about because it’s not often discussed. At the end of the day, we are all different, yet we constantly look to how others achieve success and copy or paste parts of their strategy, hoping for the best. And this often leads to resistance, overthinking, second-guessing, frustration, anger, bitterness, disappointment, and burnout.

Looking back on my 19-year career as an entrepreneur, I am most successful when I honor my natural rhythm and energy.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

As mentioned, I’ve been an entrepreneur for 19 years. I started out as a traditional wedding photographer, then pivoted to specialize in South Asian/Indian weddings, and then decided I wanted my weekends back, so I pivoted to personal-branding photography.

When I launched the branding side of my business in 2019, I had no idea where it would lead me. I never imagined it would introduce me to working with energy in business. Yet, in 2021, that’s when energy work started to unfold in my work. Now, I specialize in Human Design + Numerology as a strategy for working with entrepreneurs so that they, too, can find their own rhythm to achieve success that honors their energy cycles.

At the end of the day, the photos we create together are just a by-product of the energy work. Now my clients have images that go beyond just pretty photos in nice outfits and gorgeous locations with perfect lighting.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Hands down, I would take them to downtown St Petersburg. The city is flooded with boutique shops and non-chain restaurants. We’d grab breakfast at Cassis while sitting outside watching people walk up and down with their sweet pups.

Once our bellies are full, we’d head over to Grand Central to hit up many fun boutique shops. Next, we’d grab fajitas for lunch with margaritas at Grand Hacienda. Then walk around Sunken Gardens and end the day at St Pete Pier.

Then the next day, we would hit up St Pete Beach to rest on soft white sand after a fun-filled day in downtown St Pete. And that’s just a small fraction of what to do and enjoy in St Pete!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

Three incredible women are at the very top of my success, and wonderfully for different reasons.

First and foremost, Leah Herzwurm of Herzwurm Homes for believing in me from the very beginning of my pivot to personal branding photography and making the biggest impact in her industry, which led me to niche down to serving confident, luxury real estate professionals.

Secondly, Angie McPherson, a brand photographer, showed me that it’s possible to make a successful career as a personal branding photographer.

Last but certainly not least, Madeline Evergreen, who showed me the power of understanding Human Design and launched me into a journey of studying, integration, and analysis to bring my clients a whole new way of showing up in their business.

I wouldn’t be where I am today in my life and business if not for the impact these women have had on me.
