We had the good fortune of connecting with Kione Gonzales and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kione, what principle do you value most?
The value/principle I run my business by is rooted in building lasting relationships with my clients and genuinely caring. I truly care about my clients and helping them achieve their goals as it pertains to their real estate endeavors…whether that’s buying or selling a home. But my relationship with my clients is not entirely based on the transaction…I want to truly know my clients and be able to help them in any facet of their lives.
I think a lot of agents are focused on the transaction and the commission check and don’t truly care about their clients and building relationships that last. Once the agent gets the check most buyers and sellers never hear from their agent again. My belief is if you truly care for your clients and enjoy helping them solve any problem you will have an advocate for life for your business. People will refer you to friends, family, co-workers, etc. What better way to build your business than by referral. That is the highest compliment I can get when a client reaches out to let me know they’ve passed my information on to someone who is looking to buy or sell. That means I’ve done such a good job for them…they feel confident in referring me to people they know and care about.
I’ve had the privilege to work with a client who in our interactions I found out her brother-in-law was looking for work in IT. My husband runs the IT department at a well-known architecture firm in Orange County and they do have internships. I figured the least I could do would be to connect them and if it was a fit maybe he could get an internship at the company. He did get the internship and was later hired full-time on to the IT team! My client was so impressed but really all I did was be a valued resource for my client. I care…it’s what I do!!!
What should our readers know about your business?
I consult people in making the most important financial decision they will make…buying or selling a home is a challenge and I am there to help from the beginning to the end and beyond.
I love handing the keys to first-time homebuyers who didn’t think they could buy. It’s such a great moment when they realize they are now homeowners. I also love helping sellers get top dollar for their homes and helping them transition to another home whether it’s nearby or in another state.
What sets me apart from other agents is the fact I truly care about my clients and love building friendships with them. I pride myself on being honest and trustworthy with my clients as they navigate through one of the most important decisions in their lives.
I am fortunate to be with a brokerage that has a very clear vision and values. We are really like a family and work collaboratively to make sure we are all succeeding and reaching our goals.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visiting the area for a week there are so many places I’d want them to see here in Southern California. I LOVE good food so we would definitely have to visit some of my favorite spots. First, I would love to take them to the original El Tepeyac in East LA. My husband took me there on one of our first dates. We love to go when we are in the area. There are some great places to get drinks as well…for beers, we love a brewery here in Riverside called Wicks Brewing. They have a great selection of beers and great food as well. I’d also take them to see the Mission Inn in downtown Riverside…a great landmark! Recently, we were able to have a great dinner in La Quinta Cliffhouse…the ambiance and food were amazing.
And of course, if they’ve never been to a beach…we’d have to take them to a beach to gaze at the ocean!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank my husband for encouraging me to go into real estate and for believing I had what it takes to be successful. I also want to thank Ruben & Jennifer Hernandez, the owners of the brokerage I am with. They believed in me since day 1 and have created an environment for me to grow and contribute to the growth of our firm.
