Meet Kira

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kira and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kira, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started BY KNA because I knew what it felt like to crave comfort and confidence — and not always know where to find it. I wanted to create a brand that gave women more than just beauty services or home décor — I wanted to give them an experience that made them feel safe, seen, and supported. That vision came to life with my first spa location, FACED by KNA.
Opening the spa was my way of planting the foundation for what BY KNA would become — a space where women could slow down, reconnect with themselves, and feel cared for in ways that went deeper than skin. FACED by KNA wasn’t just a place for facials and lashes; it was my first expression of what intentional self-care could look like — one rooted in compassion, confidence, and healing energy. From that starting point, BY KNA grew into a full lifestyle brand that now touches every part of a woman’s world — from her skin to her space, and everything in between.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
BY KNA is a purpose-driven lifestyle brand rooted in spa, skincare, and home decor — all created to help women feel confident and cared for in their own skin and space. It all began with FACED by KNA, my first spa location and the heart of the brand. I didn’t want to just open a beauty studio — I wanted to create an experience where women could come to feel seen, safe, and restored. From there, the brand grew to include Korean skincare products, candles, and eventually Decor by KNA, where I help clients bring that same energy of self-love and confidence into their home environments.
What sets BY KNA apart is the intention behind everything. This isn’t surface-level self-care. Every detail — from the treatments we offer to the music we play in the spa, to the way I style a room — is done with the purpose of helping women reconnect with themselves. It’s healing energy through beauty and design.
I’m most proud of the way my brand makes people feel. Clients leave glowing, yes — but more than that, they leave feeling lighter, more at peace, more whole. That’s everything to me.
Getting here wasn’t easy. I’ve had to fight through moments of self-doubt, financial stress, and the pressure to fit into molds that didn’t align with my vision. But I’ve also had incredible people believe in me, support me, and remind me why I started. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is this: growth doesn’t happen all at once — it happens in quiet moments of consistency, faith, and staying aligned with your purpose.
What I want the world to know is that BY KNA is more than a brand — it’s a reflection of resilience, healing, and the beauty of starting over as many times as it takes. Whether it’s through a facial, a room makeover, or a product that becomes part of your ritual — my mission is to help women feel at home in their lives again.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting for a full week, I’d make sure they got a little taste of everything I love — relaxation, great food, gorgeous views, and a few fun surprises.
We’d start with a spa day at FACED by KNA in La Crescenta — obviously! I’d give her the full glow-up: a custom facial, scalp massage, and maybe some LED therapy to melt the stress away. After that, we’d grab brunch at The Sycamore Inn in the hills or head over to Castaway in Burbank for drinks, charcuterie, and those unbeatable views. Their cheese board is unmatched.
We’d definitely spend a full beach day in Hermosa or Huntington, soaking up the sun, walking the pier, and maybe bar hopping a little — something casual and fun. If we’re feeling like a little road trip, we’d take a day down to Laguna Beach or Balboa Island — the views, the shops, and the vibe down there are just magic.
For shopping, drinks, and lunch — definitely Venice Beach or Marina del Rey. I love the mix of art, style, and ocean air. We’d stroll the shops, grab a cute lunch with a patio view, and enjoy the kind of effortless beauty that those areas are known for.
For one night, we’d do something totally unexpected — like a night out at a cowboy bar. There’s nothing like letting loose, dancing, and living out your boot-scootin’ dreams with your girls. It’s always a vibe.
We’d end the trip back in Hollywood with a quiet rooftop dinner, good music, and some time to just reflect and recharge. That’s my perfect week — a little glam, a little grounding, and a lot of joy.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Definitely my family — they’ve been my backbone since day one. Their love, strength, and belief in me have carried me through every high and low, even the moments I kept quiet. I’m also beyond grateful for the close friends who have poured into me, supported me, and reminded me of who I am when I forget. And honestly, even the acquaintances who believed in me before really knowing me — some of them have become the closest friends I never saw coming. It’s the people who see your light, even when it’s dim, that make this journey so meaningful. I carry all of them with me in everything I do.
