My success in cinematography is rooted in my unwavering dedication to delving into the timeless fundamentals of the craft while simultaneously harboring an eagerness to embark on innovative ventures. I firmly believe that, in many instances, simplicity is the key to achieving powerful results. Thus, I often streamline lighting and camera movements while strategically incorporating cranes and jibs for maximum impact when needed. It is crucial to ensure that the visual elements seamlessly align with the narrative and directorial vision. Delving into the world of colors and their deliberate omission is not just a professional pursuit but a true passion of mine. When I immerse myself in a script, I instinctively envision scenes with specific colors, intentionally leaving some out to introduce an element of mystery and intrigue. It’s a process of visual storytelling where colors play a pivotal role in conveying emotions and enhancing the narrative.

To nurture and expand my creative palette, I make it a habit to frequent museums, spending ample time absorbing the rich hues and artistic expressions found in paintings. Throughout my journey, a pivotal lesson I’ve embraced is the undeniable importance of teamwork. Trust between the director and me is vital, just as trust within the entire team—comprising gaffers, assistant cameramen, and grips—is essential to bringing the vision to fruition. I consistently stress to my peers that our collective effort must be wholehearted; otherwise, all our hard work could be in vain. Mutual inspiration is imperative within the team, especially during the challenging aspects of filmmaking, as it is the camaraderie and support that propel us forward.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Getty holds a special place in my heart; the enchanting paintings within its walls captivate me every time I visit. Another cherished spot is Santa Monica Beach, where I find solace in strolling along the shore at dusk, basking in the beauty of the setting sun casting an orange glow on the horizon. This serene moment becomes a canvas for self-reflection, allowing me to gather my thoughts. Whether alone or in the company of friends, the beach is a haven for contemplation.

Following a beach outing, Casa del Mar beckons, providing the perfect setting for a leisurely drink. The ambiance complements the coastal experience, creating a seamless transition from the beach to a charming venue.

When it comes to lunch, my resounding recommendation is Tulasi Bistro in Downtown, a haven for delectable Indian cuisine. The South Indian menu, in particular, captures my culinary affections. The flavors are a delightful journey through the rich tapestry of Indian gastronomy.

For an occasional getaway, the scenic drive along the Pacific Highway to Santa Barbara is a personal favorite. The coastal vistas, accompanied by the soothing sound of waves, make for a rejuvenating experience. It’s a journey that transcends the destination, offering moments of tranquility amidst the natural beauty of the California coastline.

First and foremost, I express my gratitude to God for blessing me with incredible parents whose unwavering support and freedom to choose my path have been invaluable throughout my journey. My heartfelt appreciation extends to my younger brother, Karthik, who, despite his age, assumes the role of an elder sibling in guiding me and grounding me in reality during challenging times. He serves as both my biggest supporter and most constructive critic, understanding my weaknesses and consistently helping me navigate away from unfavorable situations. It’s undeniable that my family’s influence is the cornerstone of my achievements, and I recognize that I wouldn’t be where I am today without their constant encouragement.
