We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristi Vaccaro and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristi, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
“Training is like moving a big ass pile of dirt. Some days you get a shovel and some days you get a spoon. But as long as you move a little bit of dirt each day, you’re making progress toward your goal.” -John Wellbourn This “just move the dirt” metaphor has worked for me in business and in training from the beginning. As long as I keep showing up, consistently, every day, my business and success will continue to flourish, Too often I see young entrepreneurs or just regular people give up on a goal or dream because they don’t see immediate success or instant results. I have been “moving the dirt” to make my business successful over the past 11 years. Another realization that has helped me settle into the constant work is the knowledge that it is never going to get “easy.” I will forever put in the daily work to make myself and business more successful. The mindset that it’s just a temporary grind to then “relax” isn’t a thing. I want to work, get better every day, for the rest of my life. I truly believe that is what we are here to do. My clients see the daily work I put into bettering myself and business and they want to be a part of it. Hard work and self improvement is infectious, if you aren’t jumping on board, you are getting left behind.
What should our readers know about your business?
F.I.T LV Fitness and Nutrition is an all encompassing personal training and nutrition company that offers services both in person and remotely. I began personal training 11 years ago and dabbled with working with clients remotely over the years. It wasn’t until 2020 that I realized the need for community and support online was greater than ever. I created a program called The Accountability Program in April of 2020. I had 7 members in the first month. Over the past year we have grown to almost 100 members. While there are a hundreds of remote training and workout programs, most of them are missing one key piece- accountability. We all know people who have subscriptions to programs and apps and simply forget about them, I didn’t want that kind of service. Within my program, in addition to providing your daily workout and customized macro plan, I bring the same accountability and care you get with your personal trainer, to you online. What makes this program even more special, is the community of other members. While personal training is super effective because it is so personal and individualized, there is always that longing for community. I have created ways to connect members around the country, to support one another, have some friendly competition, and interact weekly.
Creating this program during the 2020 shutdown is what kept me thriving. It gave me something that was completely in my control when the government took away my other means to a living. I am sure many other business owners can relate to the frustrations of being told you can’t conduct your business. Many of us started our own businesses so we COULD stay in control. I know I never anticipated a time when I would lose that! Learning to pivot and flourish during those times gave me so much confidence and reenforced my belief that I can do anything I set my mind to.
I am so passionate about helping people make healthy improvements to their lives. I love supporting all different types of people at every stage of their journey. My passion and hard work shows in everything I do and can’t wait to continue to grow my business!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I absolutely love entertaining at our house so anyone who visits, gets to come by for dinner and drinks at our place first. We usually make tacos, margaritas, and homemade guacamole. I love playing the guests favorite music, lighting the tiki torches, and jumping in the pool. Whatever it takes to make the guest feel super loved and tended too. If we were going out we would probably hit up a good brunch spot- Kitchen Table LV is always good for their fresh pressed juices for bottomless mimosas or happy hour at Juans Flaming Fajitas. For a night out Herbs and Rye or Cleaver take the cake time and time again. They have an incredible drink menu and the thickest bacon I have ever had. Vegas is an incredible city with so much to do from the mountains and outdoor hiking, to the crazy pool parties. You literally have everything at your finger tips!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout my husband Steve and boys Cameron(4) and Colton(2.5). They motivate and support me daily. Steve, thank you for pushing me to chase my dreams and always believing in me. You don’t every let me feel alone in the fight for greatness and I know that no matter what, you have my back. Cameron and Colton, I never knew how much two little boys could motivate me. I love showing you what hard work can turn into, you two will be unstoppable some day.
