Hi Kristin, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Thank you so much for the opportunity! I started my first business out of necessity. I had been laid off from a corporate consulting job during the Financial Crisis and had to generate an income so I decided to start a PR firm instead of looking for a job. The early days were tough but I made it through by being scrappy, resourceful, and strategic!

What should our readers know about your business?
Fifteen years ago, I took the plunge and started my own PR firm. It was a challenging journey – one that required long hours and large amounts of dedication. However, I soon found myself overwhelmed with work and on the brink of burnout. To combat this, I had to learn how to balance my workload while still delivering excellent results. Additionally, I learned many invaluable lessons that have shaped my successful business journey. From learning to manage risks and prioritize tasks to building a robust network of supporters and being persistent in the face of adversity, I acquired the skills and knowledge necessary to build a profitable venture. Through my experiences, I was also able to develop a unique set of problem-solving skills that have helped me successfully navigate the sometimes unpredictable world of business.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Over the course of my entrepreneurial journey, I have been fortunate to have had a multitude of experiences that have contributed to my success.
