Meet Kristine Kay Larsen | Actress

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristine Kay Larsen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristine, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
When I first started acting in LA someone told me becoming an actor takes 10% skill, 10% talent and 80% luck. I don’t think That true. Being an actor life becomes so unpredictable and I understand why actors call it luck when they finally get a role. There’s a million submissions for a role and there’s only one who gets it. But I believe making it as an actor is 10% talent 10% skill and 80% stubbornness. You don’t have to be an A list actor to be an incredible actor.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What I love about acting is that no one can be like you. My acting teacher from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts once told me no one can play a character like you, that’s what makes you special. So when I play a character, like Cindy in The Black Box, I play them like it’s a side of me. It’s funny how my cast mates and I all agreed we all were a bit like our characters because we had personalized them so much, we had each added something special from ourself into the character. I was blessed being on set with such amazing actors.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my friends from Denmark comes to visit I love showing them the funny thing LA can offer that Denmark can’t. So I take them to red carpets, creative speakeasys and I love bringing them in set. Unfortunately I also always have to warn them about LA traffic.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout is to my family. My mom, my dad, my sister and my brother. They let me dream in a world where acting is the most unpredictable field. They have supported me emotionally, financially even when I was 5482 miles away. I couldn’t have done it without them.
