We had the good fortune of connecting with Kvr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kvr., why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
The child inside never died, only grew stronger. I grew up an only child, so I kept myself entertained most of my life through my imagination. As I went through school, my favorite subject was English. That was the only course that allowed me to use my creativity. I loved writing stories because it allowed me to do what I was passionate about from an early age. When I went to college, I jumped into the field of Journalism because I knew I loved to write stories, but that time was cut short. My creativity felt as if the walls were closing in, so I sprinted off to school for music engineering. I was already making music, but I wanted to understand more about it to push my ideas to a new level. At this point, I knew I had to go full force with my music. My career path is taking time to fill my pockets, but it fills my soul, and that’s what’s important to me. So I chose an artistic career because it allows my soul to feel free in this world where freedom is only a pipe dream.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What I’m most proud of is my music isn’t filled with gimmicks. My music is authentically me. There’s no persona I’m hiding behind or any of that. I got to where I’m at today with persistence. No matter what you do in life, never give up and watch how the universe works for you! Nothing worth having in this lifetime will come easy. Day by day, I become stronger and wiser to knock any challenge that comes my way out of the park. I want the world to know my mission is to spread love.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would start the day off with a hike at Runyon Canyon. I love the mental and physical challenge of getting up and down the mountain. It also provides a beautiful view of LA. After the hike, we’d go grab a smoothie from my favorite shop, Body Energy. I would recommend the PB&J smoothie, but also let them know that everything they have is good, so you can’t go wrong with trying anything on the menu. Once we’re recharged from all the deliciousness, we’d head back to my apartment to freshen up for the next adventure. The next adventure would be a trip to DTLA to visit MOCA and The Broad. Those are my favorite museums because I can see works from my favorite artist, Basquiat, Picasso and Van Gogh. The infinity rooms are always a hit too, so I know it would be a good time! After we feast our eyes on some beautiful art, it’s time to fill our stomachs with some delicious food! The next stop would be My Vegan Gold. I would order the beef jerky as an appetizer and the orange chicken for my entrée. This is another spot where I’d let them know you can order anything on the menu and be more than satisfied with your choice. We’d end the night at Venice Beach. I know it may not be a favorite for everybody, but I love the culture it provides. From muscle beach, the shops blasting music, the graffiti and the skate park. This trip sounds like it was all done in a day, but realistically it’s hard to do multiple things in LA that aren’t in the same area due to traffic. It would take a few days to soak everything in. This would be my idea trip to show my best friend around the city, along with a concert at any venue where our favorite artist is playing!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give a HUGE shoutout to my parents! The reason I fell in love with music is because of them. My dad was a DJ, so before I was even brought into this world, I was surrounded by music. I’m so thankful for them because they’ve always supported my journey. They play and show my music to family and friends all the time. It means the world to me to know they’re proud of me. I have to give them all the credit and recognition for my story!
