We had the good fortune of connecting with Kylie Montigney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kylie, what makes you happy? Why?
There are so many things that make me happy, but the main thing is my family. My family makes me laugh like no other and knows how to cheer me up when I am having a rough day.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Empower Girls is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending gender bias and inclusion in the media. Our motto is “if they can, you can” we believe that girls should be represented/treated the same no matter what race or gender they are. I am very excited on what things are in store in 2023 for Empower girls that I am very excited to share about. In terms of business wise, it was never easy because you are trying to grow your business and work on things while juggling your personal life. I overcome the challenge by whenever I have free time, I will work on the business but most importantly I should focus on my life and mental health because it’s very important. I want the word to know that Gender bias is a thing in today’s society, and it is important for people to advocate and make change not only in the workplace but the world itself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The best places to go in my area is to see the Triple- A New York Yankees in Moosic, PA. You will see a live baseball game with players that might be big in the MLB one day.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a shoutout to Geena Davis and Hugh Jackman. They have shaped me into where I am today and has inspired me to be in this industry and to never give up.
