We had the good fortune of connecting with Kylie Pavlich and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kylie, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Growing up, I found a lot of my emotional escape through art and creativity. Don’t get me wrong, I was not good at it. I couldn’t draw, paint, or sing. I wasn’t great at the guitar, piano or the french horn (lol, I know). I never landed the lead in any school plays… but it was exhilarating. Maybe it’s the Aries in me- but it almost became a competition with myself, which oddly, helped me find myself. It became my home. I knew, whatever I did in life, art would play a major and influential role for me. And it did. And it does.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am proud and excited to be a comedic actress and plus size model in an industry where I had been told it would be impossible to do at my size and age. Although, I’ve worked incredibly hard to get here, I know I still have a good way to go and I’m looking forward to that journey. It’s my goal to show others that anything is possible if you take the risk and trust yourself. That you don’t have to look a certain way or be a certain age to accomplish your goals. Success can come from loving yourself and loving what you do, and I hope that love reflects in my craft. I’ve learned that it’s important to lead with kindness, keep love in your heart and to NEVER compare yourself to someone else.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I LOVE hosting! I especially love being a tourist-y host! I would start out by taking them on a TMZ Star Tour Bus and the double decker Hop on Hop Off Tour. Classic. Then we would do a Beach Day and Drive from Venice up the PCH to Malibu. For Nightlife- Tramp Stamp Granny’s is a personal favorite, along with The Oaks Tavern, The One Up and Los Amigos. Karaoke is a must for multiple nights! You meet the most interesting and fun people at a karaoke bar! For food, I would take them to Jon & Vinny’s, Sushi Yuzu and Din Tai Fung. If anyone has more recommendations DM me!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I fully recognize that I would not be here if it wasn’t for the incredible network of friends and family that have supported me along the way, and I would love to dedicate this to them. I have been truly blessed with the outpouring of love and encouragement from every single one of them. I would love to send a shoutout to my mother, who fostered in me a love and appreciation of the arts. To my father, I want to say thank you for teaching me not to take myself too seriously and to lean into the absurd. To both of them, thank you for teaching me what it is to be kind- that is the greatest lesson of all. I would also love to say a special thank you to my sister, who has been the best sister, friend and self-tape partner a gal could ask for.
