We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Biazzo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I have always been the kind of person that says yes to opportunities first, and then I figure out a way to make them successful. It is so easy to say, “No, I am not ready” or “I can’t” or “I don’t know how”…but I think it’s way more fun to put myself up to the challenge of taking a risk and seeing how I can make it work out best for me! In this business, if you don’t take risks and put yourself out there, you’ll unfortunately fall into the background. All the risks I have taken have led me to where I am today both career wise and in my life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

Your girl is ALWAYS busy and always has been. Look, nothing is ever EASY – but if you work hard, things will seem to be “easier” because you’re just getting better. I was always determined to be an actor. I went to college for it and after graduation I spent years traveling into NYC from Long Island for 1 minute auditions and then I’d hop back on the train for that long ride home. When I finally decided it was time to move into Manhattan, I started taking on even more jobs than I had before. I was (and currently still am) a jack of all trades. I have worked in so many areas of this business and worked hard to build genuine relationships and connections with the people that I have met along the way – and truly that is how I end up landing most of my jobs. I don’t believe anyone is better than anyone else. I treat everyone that I meet with the utmost respect. People come and go in your life but I seem to always keep finding those same people along the way who remember me for who I truly am and it makes them want to work with me (yay!). I try to always leave people feeling better than they did before they got there.

About a year or so ago I started getting into making reels on Instagram. I started off making them because it was a creative outlet for me and I really just love to make people laugh. Because so many things were remote and there were not as many in person auditions or shows anymore, Instagram was the way to go. It makes me soooo happy to know now that people find such joy from my videos. I am not afraid to make a fool out of myself, I really don’t care what people may think of me. All I care about is that the people watching can get away from regular life for a bit and have some laughs while enjoying my videos! It truly warms my heart!! Putting yourself out there like that (especially on social media) can be scary and often times you’ll second guess yourself about what you are posting. But as long as you are a kind person and not hurting anyone – post the damn reel! Who cares if people will make fun of you. Once you stop caring about things like that, life becomes so much easier and so much more fun!

P.S. I have about 300 hobbies (painting, fitness, makeup, languages) so I can never say I’m “not busy” LOL.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oooo This is interesting because I no longer live in Manhattan haha! However my town on Long Island is very lively! We are surrounded by breweries and really good eateries. I also love experiences so I would totally want to do an activity whether it be an escape room or a bingo brunch. Anything that gets a bunch of people together having a good time, is just the best! I also love any dog related activities because I have two doggies!  Going out East on Long Island is so nice especially in the town Port Jefferson. A nice walk through the town, a drink at the brewery and then ice cream to finish off the day sounds like a perfect day to me!

When I had lived in NYC, one of my favorite things to do was go to the park. Whether it was Central Park or Bryant Park, I always found that I found creative inspo hanging out there! I loved going to spontaneous shows at UCB or The Pit. A night of comedy is always a win.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
MY FAMILY! I wouldn’t be where I am today without them. They are always there to support me. They have been to every one of my shows (big and small), they have taped my ridiculous performances that I would put on for them at age 5, they always showed me that I have the ability to have any type of life that I want in this world if I put my mind to it. This in turn led me to meeting my husband who gives me that same kind of love and support that my family has always given me. He always helps me with my lines, with writing scripts, with refining my comedy and is always there when I feel like this industry tears me down. He helps me get through the hard times and always brings me back up to myself and reminds me of who I am and why I do what I do. I also wouldn’t be here today without the support of my good friends and my reps who always have my back!!! One last shoutout to my high school drama teacher, Mr. Savastano, for getting me started on this career path and believing in me from the very beginning!
