We had the good fortune of connecting with Leah Fraizer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leah, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
I really believe that self confidence and love is the foundation of success in all areas of life. When you are able to trust in yourself, your abilities and talents shine through. Being able to walk through life and accepting who you are can give you the strength to pick yourself up and try again if you fall. Loving yourself gives you the freedom to take the risks that move you to new heights and opportunities. I know who I am and what my purpose in this world is and it has made me excel in my profession, as well as be a better parter, mother and friend.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The journey into my professional career stared out on a community theater stage. From there I branched out to other theaters, and started singing in a rock and roll band. I steadily started to build my confidence and stage presence, and began to take on paid gigs. I surrounded myself with other talented and successful artists in the in the business, which opened doors to more opportunities. This in turn snowballed into more confidence, greater stage presence and other avenues within the performance industry.

Working in this industry is not something I would call easy. I would say that the tools you use and add to your toolbox become cumulative and make the tasks easier to navigate. Being represented by my talent agency KIT (Kit International Talent) has been one of the greatest examples of streamlining the process and making my career more manageable. With Tabitha I have consistently had a mentor, someone who pushes me, and a representative who holds me accountable. I have branched out into so many avenues that I didn’t consider were part of my skill set, or didn’t even know existed. I am constantly working on my craft and learning new skill sets and building upon the ones I currently have. I am now able to be a mentor to others who are just starting out in their career or need some guidance on how to move forward.

I took a chance and you should too. Stay true to yourself and constantly follow your dreams. Don’t let small bumps in the road, or even large potholes steer you off course. When you put the effort in and believe in yourself magic really does happen.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in Sacramento, which in my opinion is a beautiful city and great central hub for all of Northern California. Our first night, I would take them to a Sacramento Kings basketball game. The stadium is beautiful, and the atmosphere is always happy and electric. The second day, we would head downtown and grab a coffee and some breakfast at Old Soul at the Weatherstone. Then hit the farmers market and some of the amazing second hand stores and boutique shops like Freestyle and Crazy Mary’s. I would also make sure to take them to eat at V’s Paradise in Old Town Sacramento (the food and cocktails are brilliant and there is live music and dance performances while you eat), and The Place (which has amazing Italian food) in Old Town Roseville.

We would take a day trip up to Truckee and lounge, picnic, swim and listen to music on one of the docks on Donner Lake. Then do some window shopping in Old Town Truckee and eat at Moody’s, Jacks or Cottonwood. If we chose to stay the night we would definitely hit up Squeeze in for breakfast because the food is amazing!

There would also be a day trip to Amador County to do a wine tasting day. Some of my favorites are Helwig, Jeff Runquist, and Scott Harvey.

At some point we would need to go see some live music and a show. I love Harlows, Goldfields and Ace of Spades. B street theater and Green Valley Theater Company are amazing if you’re in the mood for a show.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband Sean has always pushed me and supported me in going for my dreams. He supported us when I quit my job in the government, and was just starting out. He never once complained about the long hours and different work schedule. He is always available to help me by being my reader for auditions, helping me learn lines and working my recording equipment. I am so very grateful and blessed to have a partner who believes in me.
