We had the good fortune of connecting with Leah Recania and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Leah, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is 100% God. Without my relationship with Him, I don’t know where I would be. There have been countless times I have wanted to give up or felt not worthy enough to simply just show up, but God has given me the confidence, endurance, strength, reassurance, wisdom, and more to keep moving forward. The other part is that my brand is not about me. What has kept it going the last couple of years is the community of women who are a part of the brand who resonate with the brand. It’s knowing I am able and purposed to create a place for these women to empower and be empowered that truly adds to the success of the overall brand.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am most proud of the community of women I am able to encourage and inspire daily through the Strong BABE brand. Strong BABE stands for Strong, Bold, Active, Beautiful Everyday. It is a faith and fitness women’s empowerment community where we gather together to get in shape, spiritually, mentally, and physically, both on and offline. The vision for Strong BABEs was literally just a dream I journaled about 2 years before it even came to life. It was anything but easy. The key for me was trusting the journey God had me on and not rushing the process. Eventually, when it was time for Strong BABEs to be born, it happened so effortlessly because I put my faith in who had me (God) instead of what I can or can’t do. His timing is always perfect. The first time Strong BABEs went live was through an in-person event (pre-covid) and from there every month after we sold out every event month after month for an entire year. Now, we have a growing community online and look forward to the days we can gather again in person.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Omg so many great places in LA. I’d probably take them bike riding at Manhattan Beach followed by donuts at Sidecar in Santa Monica, a sunset hike at Runyon, and then dinner on a rooftop like Mama Shelter or EP LP! Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My sister, who is also my best friend and an entrepreneur / ultra creative. Her name is Emily and without her unconditional love and support I would not be who I am today.
