We had the good fortune of connecting with Leah Thompson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Leah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process…oh man! I first thought about starting a business when I graduated from college with my associate’s in business marketing & management. After graduating, I researched everything I needed to know about starting a business from a bank account, business license, EIN, and that’s when my first online baby was born.
What should our readers know about your business?
So the name of my business is Snazzi Lust, an online women’s brand that celebrates confidence, self-love, and strength. My goal is to provide excellent customer service and high-quality, unique items that are easy to wear and suitable for all shapes and sizes. Snazzi Lust is a business of innovative ideas to improve the online shopping experience. While running my business, I discovered my love of photography and directing. The story-telling of fashion photography fascinated me, so I decided to take classes, and my photography journey began. I am proud of myself because I never gave up no matter what. My business journey has been challenging and exciting. Sometimes, as a creator, you might lack motivation, feel stuck or uninspired. You always hear “keep going”; and it’s easier said than done, but you’re in charge of your life & it’s truly up to you. I learned so much on this journey, such as NEVER compare yourself to another creator and work at your own pace because it is never good to rush. I recently stopped doing that because you lose money that way. And have fun doing what you love. There’s not much I need the world to know about me besides being a good person with a purpose to help others. As for business, stay tuned.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would tell my best friend that we’re out to San Diego!!! I loveeee it there, the vibe is everything. We’ll first get some breakfast near the beach at OB Surf Lodge. Then we’ll probably head to sea world, head back to the hotel to recharge and freshen up. Then nightlife at the Sugar Factory and probably a lounge if covid didn’t exist.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Man, where should I start? First, I want to thank God for giving me strength and guidance throughout my journey in LA. Since I started my business and moved from New York to Los Angeles, my family has always been a good support system. I love my family very much. They’re the reason why I work hard. I often get emotional talking about them because the bond between us is so strong. Also, I thank Precious Castillo for helping me get this opportunity to share my story.
