We had the good fortune of connecting with Lemond Johnson Jr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lemond, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success and the success behind The Perfect Athlete is the people, clients, and athletes. It’s important for me and my trainers to always remember that it’s all about the athletes’ growth and correctly educating them on whatever it maybe. I realized that when you build a business or brand, the main focus is helping others and treating everyone you come across with the same energy, knowledge, and guidance you would want from a trainer or mentor. Only then will you begin to self-develop to be able to provide the best version of yourself to whoever you come across. Especially with new NIL rules in NCAA, if college athletes can think about helping others rather than thinking about promoting themselves, then they will create something that will deserve financial compensation through marketing and endorsements. So if you consistently work on helping others and your clientele, success will come.
What should our readers know about your business?
I want to first begin with what excites me. I am excited everyday to be in a position to help young athletes develop not only physically but mentally everyday. I am proud to be able to provide knowledge and a foundation that has instantly changed individual’s lives.
I got to where I am today by keeping my head down, not being influenced by others, walking in my purpose, and understanding the power of being self aware and keeping yourself focused. Doing all of these things I have listed is not easy but very enjoyable. When you begin to build the right habits, the normal becomes easy and then you can develop something brick by brick that’s your own.
What I want anyone that comes across the brand, The Perfect Athlete, to know is number 1: Everyone is an athlete. If you’re pursuing better health in whatever way you choose to exercise, The Perfect Athlete brand considers you an athlete. Number 2: Consistency is key. Consistently working to become the perfect athlete everyday is the goal.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Monday- I am taking them to a Yoga class I instruct at Zin Yoga & Wine Studio called Sthira for Sukha. Tuesday- we would go to Pure Juicery Bar (best 100% vegan high quality food joint.
Wednesday: Lunch in North Hills (nice area)
Thursday: Go to Top Golf Dinner. (golf and food)
Friday: Afternoon training session at The Perfect Athlete Facility.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Today, I wouldn’t be where I am at without the help of God, my wife, and family. I am so appreciative of all everything that I have ever received physically or mentally, good or bad. I understood sacrifices that my family and I had to make at a very young age. If it wasn’t for my family and friends trying to be the best version of themselves everyday for them and for me, I wouldn’t be who I am today.
