We had the good fortune of connecting with Lena Ryals and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lena, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Two words: faith and obedience. In January of 2019, I had my list of goals I wanted to accomplish. Financial freedom was on the top of my list. The year went on and I was moving along in my plans, but not putting a huge dent into my financial plan. There had been rumors of my company offering packages. I had no intention of taking a package. How could I, a single mother, give up the stability and comfort of my job of 22 years? Was I being irresponsible in my choice to take a package? But one night I was reminded of my ask and realized that God was delivering on his promise. I never expected that my ask would come with an ask of its own- leave my job and start a new journey into entrepreneurship. In obedience, I hit the yes button and formed LMR Consulting Firm.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Living in New Jersey you can get the best of both worlds being so close to New York City. A weeklong venture we will take in the sites of the Jersey Shore down in Long Branch for a couple days. Staying at the trendy Bungalow Hotel and enjoying the beach and local restaurants. I love to cook so we are definitely taking a cooking class at the Natirar restaurant. On a Friday night, we are going to party like it’s 1999 and go skating at the themed skating events held in Brooklyn, NY and take in a roof-top bar afterwards. To end the week, we can take a drive down to Atlantic city and enjoy the casino and take in a concert or show.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shoutout my daughter and my parents. I ventured into entrepreneurship to leave behind a legacy. She challenges me every day to keep believing in this vision that I am creating. Without the support of my parents, none of this would be possible. I’m forever grateful for their front-line support.
