We had the good fortune of connecting with Lexy Dobbin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lexy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Alexia Dobbin Enterprises started because i wanted people to know that when they came to me for mentorship, talent representation, campaigns or artist development that it would be me doing the work for them, Using my own talent and skill to execute & develop their vision. My company is based off relationships, and i truly believe i’m where i am today based on how i “Alexia Dobbin” have protected, cared for, respected and established relationships globally. From my talent to my corporate clients, agents, labels, music executives, publicists, venue operators, promoters, and creative teams – i make sure everyone feels important, respected, heard and inspired on whatever we work on together.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I launched Alexia Dobbin Enterprises the week of international woman’s week 2021 because i figured there was no better time than now to finally go for something i’ve thought about doing for over 5 years. Alexia Dobbin Enterprises is home to the craft i’ve spent 10 + years practicing (not perfecting HA). I take pride in ADE being the Voice that speaks for the Talent, the Creator behind the Brand Partnerships & the Educator inspiring the next generation of Talent Managers because truly – no one is really doing this in both the sports & music space. Management – sure, brand partnership – sure, Education – some places…but who is combining them all together as a business and crossing over to all align and work together- me. It has not been easy, but truly everything in my career has lead me to this point and i’m so excited i’ve finally been able to combine my love for working in both music & sports and bring them under one roof…which just so happens to be my very own company.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ok so i couldn’t be more basic if i tried here. But first stop would be the Chinese chicken salad at Joans on third – seriously. My go to’s for any friend visiting LA besides the obvious of Runyon, Santa Monica Bvld, The Observatory etc would hands down start with a scary or old school movie at Hollywood Forever Cemetery – seriously one of my favourite things to do in LA (besides a little market trip to Santee alley followed by a late lunch + unlimited aperol spritz at Eataly Century city) Id make sure they went to almost any concert at the Hollywood bowl, an insomnaic run event at any club or dance venue in LA, a magic show at the black rabbit rose speak easy gets me every time, and an open mic night at Adults only (have never not left there without finding or falling in love with new talent). Naturally i wouldn’t let me best friend leave LA without attending a Hollywood Hills house party/rager (most likely invited to by the one and only Garrett Cagni HA) and it would just be down right rude of me to not take them to sunset dinner at Nobu Malibu, followed by a Burke Williams Spa treatmeant in venice. Wow just reading that makes me want to date myself HA!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Truly there are so many people. My Mum Dad and sister have been my absolute rocks. My best friends Melora + Steph are so supportive and never let me quit, my clients are exceptional people, and last but not least my newest partners in Prospect Soccer Academy Harry & Robbie – we are truly the most dysfunctional family and fight like unwanted siblings but we have such a vision ahead of us for the sports camps globally that they help make all the long days and late nights worth it.

Tell us about a book you’ve read and why you like it / what impact it had on you.
The Alchemist -Paulo Coelho. Read this book on the Christmas + NY break this year and its truly changed my life. Couldn’t recommend reading it more. Focuses so much on how everything always works out exactly the way its supposed to, and makes you really realise that every thing, person, place, moment has a purpose and leads you to your next steps.
