We had the good fortune of connecting with Lil Trunk and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lil, how do you think about risk?
I think risk is the most important thing to have as a young artist like myself. If you aren’t willing to invest money into your brand/career then you aren’t doing it right. Risk taking is everything. Im constantly taking a risk on myself because I know what the outcome will be when all goes well

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I make music so I could inspire young kids and people to chase their dreams. Don’t listen to anyone when they say “think realistic”. Always take risks in yourself, because if you don’t who will? It’s not easy being an independent artist. Money and budget is something that I struggle with. I have to hustle everyday to get to where I am. You need to have a hard working ethic to be in this industry. I learned that you need to educate yourself every single day and always keep an open mind. Another thing is to know when to speak and when to shut up.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Some people that deserve some credit are Versatile G, P.O. Breezy, Jake Strain, Prestige Knows, Mixed by Rey, and Chef Boyardi. All of these people have helped developed me into the artist that I am today.
