We had the good fortune of connecting with Liletta Harlem and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Liletta, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I am passionate about uplifting women. Going through several bouts of depression in my life including a suicide attempt at age 18, I got to see first hand what it feels like to be broken and not sure of who you are. As I healed I knew I had to take my own experience and help other women find that power that lies within them so that they can thrive!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My creativity is mostly evident in my writing and the way I continue to add layers to my business. With two published books and two more scheduled to be released December 2021, I’m finding how much I love to creatively write and tell stories with carefully selected words.

It’s not been easy creating my empire as an empowerment coach and teaching women how to communicate to themselves and others but the results of seeing women grow and thrive have made it worth it.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to just do it! Maybe you will decide that a certain path isn’t for you or maybe you will discover your passion and purpose!

I want people to know by seeing my story that life after trauma is possible. You can heal and help others to heal through your story.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to the beautiful landscapes of the area. We have amazing wineries and beautiful waterfalls and you can’t visit the area without getting the chance of taking it all in!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
These questions are always so hard because there have been so many people that have influenced me from my mom and sister to others. But one specific mentor played a huge role in my professional growth. Ken Moorman, the owner of a local Coffeeshop and community mentor. He was the first person to plant the seed that I could be an author. His guidance as a mentor and friend has given me the confidence to grow as an entrepreneur!
