Hi Lin, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose a creative career because I’ve always been fascinated by stories and bringing imagination to life. Ever since I was young, I’ve been fascinated by stories and visuals—whether in books, movies, or video games—and how they can make people feel different emotions or see the world in a new way. The drive towards a creative path was fueled by my passion for storytelling and turning ideas into reality.

As I got older, this passion for creativity didn’t fade; it only grew stronger, especially when I saw the potential to merge it with technology, like AI. The idea of combining storytelling with cutting-edge tech to create something entirely new and even more impactful was thrilling. It’s not just about creating stories; it’s about pushing the boundaries of animation and exploring new ways to tell stories. Now, when you add AI into the mix, especially with animation, it opens up even more possibilities. It’s like having a magic tool that takes creativity to the next level.

Following a creative route with a blend of technology felt like the right choice for me. It is the place where I am able to truly be myself, consistently come up with new ideas, and hopefully motivate others in the process. It’s a place where my love for storytelling and enthusiasm for technology can merge.

My journey in the entertainment world is one of constant evolution, innovation, and a deep passion for storytelling. This journey’s distinction lies in the unique stories I choose and the innovative means by which they’re conveyed. It began with ‘Friendship,’ an animated short film that deeply resonated with audiences, inspiring me to expand its narrative into a graphic novel and audio stories.

At immix, we’re at the vanguard of merging entertainment and technology to create unparalleled storytelling experiences. Our journey into leveraging AI in animation and production has been filled with both groundbreaking innovations and formidable challenges. AI serves as an extension of our creativity, enabling us to refine animation processes and bring stories to life with a new level of depth and curiosity.

However, integrating AI into our creative processes hasn’t been without its challenges. Adapting to the swiftly changing landscape of AI technology while ensuring our artistic vision remains a delicate balancing act. It has demanded a fusion of creativity, technical prowess, and forward-thinking—attributes that have fueled our journey of continuous learning and innovation.

Our latest project, a new short film, stands as a testament to this journey. It encapsulates the essence of our learnings about blending storytelling with cutting-edge technology while maintaining a human essence to the film.

My path to where I am today wasn’t shaped by just one person but by a bunch of different things from books, videos and conferences.

Books have served as my quiet instructors, providing knowledge and perspectives through narratives and concepts that provoked my thoughts and broadened my perspectives. I have been given the chance to learn from the triumphs and mistakes of those who have experienced similar journeys, standing on the shoulders of giants.

Videos have served as a gateway to the actual world, offering a visual educational opportunity that cannot be provided by books alone. From TED Talks that inspired innovative thoughts to tutorials that walked me through acquiring new skills, videos have played a crucial role in my learning process.

Conferences have contributed an additional element to my travels. They connect me with people who share my interests and professionals in my area of expertise. There have been chances to delve deeply into particular interests, interact with knowledgeable individuals, and connect with others who have similar passions. The unmatched energy and inspiration derived from being in the midst of individuals who share the same enthusiasm for learning and personal development.
