We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Goshon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
The hidden dangers in eyelash glue adhesive. Eyelash glue contains two cancer causing carcinogenics: cyanoacrylate and formaldehyde. False eyelashes also contain chemicals banned in the U.K. as well as the glue we use. Manufacturers have turned a blind eye when it comes to informing consumers about ingredients used all in the name of making money!

What should our readers know about your business?
LGI Branding LLC is a woman-minority firm specializing in the import, export and development of consumer product goods for safety, particularly in the transportation and beauty industry. What specifically sets LGI Branding apart from others particularly in the beauty space is not being afraid to go against the grain. The beauty industry is completely “unregulated” in the U.S. with more than 1300 toxic chemicals banned in the U.K. allowed in our cosmetics. It is also controlled by a few large conglomerates that control everything from advertising, product ingredients, animal testing, efficacy, etc.

As a woman-minority business, we receive less than 2% of all funding in the world so anything we do is a challenge. However, as a survivor of a catastrophic illness, I know a little something about defying the odds and will continue doing so even with my business. I am a problem-solver and think with a solution-oriented mindset and the reason I created Goodbye Glue in the first place. Goodbye Glue is the first “medical-grade” eyelash adhesive strip ever developed to give consumers an alternative to toxic eyelash glue which contains two bad chemicals: “cyanoacrylate” the leading ingredient in all glues and formaldehyde. According to the World Health Organization, both are cancer causing carcinogenic. Right now, LGI Branding is in the process in raising awareness about toxicity in beauty and the need for more regulations. In doing so hopefully we will inspire change across the beauty industry and put protecting consumers over profits.

What I want the world to know about Goodbye Glue is not since 1911 when Canadian Anna Taylor invented the first false eyelashes with glue attached have there been any advancements in eyelash adhesive until now. Goodbye Glue is the first “glue-less” product in more than 113 years to be developed in the market globally which is a really really big deal! Goodbye Glue is made from 3M medical-grade adhesive that’s safe, water resistant and super easy to apply. I want Americans to be proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish. We’re an American company, woman-minority owned, who defied the odds and able to develop an American-made product using raw goods produced in America and manufactured in Los Angeles, California with no investment help!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The one thing all visitors want to do when they come to visit me is go to the famous Venice Beach. Of course, we’re on to Hollywood afterwards so they can see all the famous stars on the sidewalk and Chinese theatre. For evening entertainment we’ll take in a Lakers or Clippers game if it’s basketball season or perhaps a little football if it’s in the Fall. We’ll also go visit the famous Santa Monica pier and ride the ferris wheel. Then when it comes to dining they have to visit some of the iconic places like Pink’s hot dogs, FlaminPasta, and of course, In and Out Burgers. For the one upscale food stop we’re going to Mr. Chows!

The most exciting people should be those closest to you so spending time with loved ones is the best way to enjoy your time in L.A.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to shoutout women over the age of 40 who are mostly recognized in beauty ads and commercials for being old and somehow in need of being restored to a more “youthful” state. Instead, we need to celebrate women over 40 right where we are with our flaws and wrinkles, crows feet and cellulite. Women over 40 should be recognized and shouted out for being stedfast in the face of discrimination in beauty. We have sacrificed so younger women have freedoms we didn’t and still don’t. I want society to embrace women over 40 in our natural state of beauty, right where we are and highlight the importance of acceptance and growing gracefully publicly!
