Meet Lisa Marie Posso: Serial Entreprenuer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Marie Posso and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lisa Marie, how do you think about risk?
Without taking continuous risks in every aspect of my life, I cannot even begin to imagine where I’d be right now. I’ve never been one to play it safe or wait for the right time. I believe we have to create the right time, or create the opportunity, or create the vision. Don’t wait.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Aside from events and brand deals, my recent venture is called GYFTING. Born out of quarantine, we specialize in consciously curated experiential gift boxes that embrace products from BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and female founded brands. What sets me apart from others is definitely my resilience. As many times as I’ve failed, I’ve gotten back up and conquered. I’m never scared of failing or looking stupid because I think it makes me want to succeed that much more. Due to the resilience in me it’s allowed me to pull myself out of many different situations that would bury other people who aren’t as strong mentally. I always used to say I got “lucky” often. Whether it was the people I was meeting or the jobs/clients I was getting recommended for. Now I realize that it wasn’t luck, it was me putting my head down and ego aside and manifesting where I wanted to be and the universe putting things in place for me to get there! Some lessons I’ve learned along the way are that no one really knows what they’re doing. Even the people you look up to are just using life experience to figure things out along the way. You can’t be scared to ask for help and you can’t be scared to admit when you’re wrong. Own who you are, and what you do and do everything with passion. I think anyone who knows me can speak to the fact that I’ve never changed who I am or my values for anyone or anything. I am authentic, honest and continuously pushing the limit with everything I do. I am the epitome of not letting my surroundings define my life and I will continue to break through barriers.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely hit sunset at Pan Pacific Park near The Grove. Thats when all the dogs come out. I’m talking 50 dogs at happy hour. Nothing beats it. If I’m feeling bougie we’ll hit Soho House for a picante or Nobu Malibu for some passionfruit sake. We could also do 2 magical nights in Joshua Tree. If time permits we’d hop on a train to Santa Barbra and ride bike bar to bar. Food wise, it’s always a clean breakfast with loads of caffeine and truffle pasta for dinner!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to Brenda Schamy. My attorney, friend, mentor and biggest supporter. Sometimes I feel like she believes in me more than I believe in myself. I’m so insanely grateful for her and the entire Dischino & Schamy team.
