We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisette Mora and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisette, why did you pursue a creative career?
As I grew up, I came to understand that expressing myself best meant creating unique outfits. Spending countless hours styling looks became more than a hobby—it became my way of authentically communicating who I am. This insight dawned on me as I allowed my curiosity to guide my creativity.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It’s a perpetual and dynamic force in your life that remains challenging yet keeps you engaged. It mirrors the excitement of your perspective and emphasizes the importance of maintaining curiosity in any chosen field. Growing up with Cuban immigrant parents, I’ve felt a self-imposed pressure to make the most of my opportunities. Trusting your instincts and believing in your capabilities are crucial. Overcoming life’s obstacles is not about the falls but about the resilience to rise again. While people may not recall all your achievements, they will remember how you made them feel, and there’s immense power in instilling self-belief in others.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Drive down PCH and hit the Getty villa before heading to Matador beach or point dune Malibu for the day. Hang out on Abbott Kinney and shop a bit then have dinner at Gjelina venice

The Greek or hollywood bowl for a concert ( for sure) and maybe do Mozza for dinner beforehand.
Go for a hike up Runyon canyon
The Griffith park observatory
The rose bowl flea market (if it’s the second Sunday of the month) 🤞🏼
Sunset tower, chateau marmont
Soho house
End the trip at Olympic spa for their Goddess treatment

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Numerous individuals have played pivotal roles in shaping my career. My family provided unwavering love and support throughout my journey. Kevin Peterson, the store manager at Barney’s New York, believed in me and afforded me the chance to pursue my dream role as the visual store manager responsible for the store’s windows. Warren Baker also deserves recognition for being a great mentor in the business realm. Nick Khan showed confidence in me by entrusting me with his clients and providing me with opportunities to develop and expand my skills.
