We had the good fortune of connecting with Lissis Martin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lissis, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I knew from the age of 9 years that singing was my passion. I decided to enter a televised singing competition when I was 15 years old in my hometown of Honduras, Central America and I won 1st place. After listening to the crowd and feeling what I felt on stage, I realized that I needed to become a Singer.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art consists of interpretations of my soul. I sing about what I feel. Life experiences. I am working on a new project /album where each songs is written based on my life experiences. I am continuously working on my singing career and I long for an opportunity to expose my music to the world as my brand.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
we would go visit the Lincoln Memorial and rent some pedal boats and while we watch the sunset then we can go around The Warf and try all different food and drinks we also can go to Old Town in Alexandria

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank my Spouse and Producer J. Martin from Latin Soul DC Music for supporting my talent and allowing me to complete my dream of being a Singer.
