Meet Liz Marrero | Movement Artist – Dancer, Choreographer, Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Liz Marrero and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Liz, how does your business help the community?
My business is based into providing educational tools and real life experiences for the dance community evolution, elevating our level of work ethic, creativity and reliability as professional dancers/choreographers and as artists who belong and represent the entertainment business and artistic community.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a movement artist and a leader of love. I dance, choreograph and direct; my mission is to provide a bridge for us to develop the best version of our artistic selves and to promote experiences for artists to connect, exchange and expose their work and talent to the world.
Understanding our mission is not easy, is a process, but when you figure it out all you need to succeed is a PPP (Preparation, planification and positivism).
After realizing I wanted to pursue a dance career, I worked my way to move from Venezuela, I learned english in Ireland and then I moved to NYC to study in Peridance Capezio Center, I did a certification program in performing arts in dance that gave me the tools to build a career with longevity and substance. To be a good professional you must invest in your education and living in different countries and exchanging with other cultures is probably the most inspiring source of creativity I have ever had, I believe this works with any human being.
Leaving our confortable zone isn’t easy for anybody, but the world is too incredible to just look at it from one perspective, changes are always needed for evolution, transform any loss into a lesson and count your blessings, everything in life is a process, trust it, enjoy it and do not rush it.
I have worked as a professional dancer since I am 13 years old, I have study and gained experiences for years but not all the answers will get to you at a first sight, in fact, now that I am 28 I feel my artistic career is just starting, specially just starting to make sense.
I am excited for the world to see whats coming next on deck, I am currently expanding our newest project ‘Parching’ to different cities like Mexico DF, Medellin, Caracas and Los Angeles. I am producing my 1st convention “The Liz Marrero Experience” in the city I was born and I have created “Heels by Liz” a movement to develop the Stiletto dance style in South America and it is also a brand that will provide affordable and convenient shoes to dance in heels.
It is as simple as it sounds, love is the key and art provides the tools to heal our souls and elevate our consciousness. I am a leader of love who uses movement to transform this world in a better place to live.
Dream big, achieve bigger and never stop trusting yourself.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite places or things to do around is camping beach front in Leo Carrillo (close to Santa Monica), hiking around Griffith park, bike riding in Venice beach or San Clemente or scape to a cabin in Big Bear Lake.
For late nights I will recommend partying in Creatington or going to a Soulection party whenever happens in the city.
For food I will highly suggest “the cha-cha” garlic ramen from Jinya Ramen Bar, the yuca fries loaded from La Escala, a colombian- korean fusion restaurant in Korea Town or for a casual day a salad from Rodini Park in North Hollywood, but something you can’t miss if you visit the area is an ice cream from Salt n’ Straw

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom, my sisters, my students and everybody who has somehow believed or supported Liz Marrero
