We had the good fortune of connecting with Liz Walsh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Liz, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“The more a thing tends to be permanent, the more it tends to be lifeless.” – Alan Watts.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Connection is important to me as an artist. Community as well, I believe that art exists to reflect and connect. Art as a mirror to ourselves, or the world. It could be a personal moment looking at something, or listening, experiencing a moment, Art beyond that is not a turn on to me. It should be accessible, free and available to whomever needs it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
beaches, griffin park, echo park lake…

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Grandma Ida, she was painting in her back bedroom when i was little, It made me curious and made me want to try. It also gave me an example of a woman creating and finding value in that expression and practice.
