We had the good fortune of connecting with Lizbeth Perez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lizbeth, what matters most to you?
The value that is most important to me is staying true to myself and continuously exploring, reflecting, and improving myself. The more I know myself, the easier it is to share my true good intentions with the world.

There are many swimwear brands out there, but there is only one of me. Allowing my brand to become an extension of me provides an opportunity for more authenticity and individuality within the brand, and more fulfillment for me from a career perspective.

I have identified that my calling in life is to enhance the experiences women have on this planet and to uplift women. Lilies Bikinis is my first vessel for exploring this destiny, but I have committed to ensuring that all other future business ventures are aligned with that destiny as well.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I was very optimistic about how quickly I would achieve success because I strongly believed in my designs, but life humbled me very quickly. I started out sewing, designing, and doing everything, top to bottom, by myself. That is in addition to going to college full time. It left me little time to invest in marketing and working on the online brand image. What I learned after a couple of years of trying: It doesn’t matter if you have the best product in the world. The internet is a vast place these days and nobody is looking for YOU online. You have to find ways to reach THEM.

After graduating from college with a degree in Business, I abandoned my business for a year. Instead, I spent 2020 working at a digital marketing agency with the intention to pick up the knowledge and skills I needed to get my brand noticed online. At the end of the year, I quit my job at the agency to give my dream one last shot, and finally, God felt I was ready. Lilies Bikinis has been growing since then.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in San Antonio, Texas so I am not sure this question is applicable to me. However, if it is, please email me and I will provide a response. 🙂

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to the immigrant community and my family. Coming from a family of Cuban Immigrants, I understood the value of a dream. I have a deep appreciation for the value of freedom, opportunity, and proper education.

Watching my Cuban family work themselves to the bone just to make ends meet, inspired me to think “imagine all I can do within my lifetime for my family, knowing I come cut from the same cloth as these hardworking and aspirational people, paired with the blessing of being born in a free country.”
