We had the good fortune of connecting with Lizzie Hendrickson and Lizzy Seguin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lizzy, Lizzie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The Know Wear Files was born out of our love for fashion. Pre-Covid we were each other’s shopping buddies. It’s always helpful to have someone you know and trust to help you make smart purchases. While COVID was in full force, we were heartbroken to see small businesses and brands affected by the pandemic and wanted to help. Live Shopping was brought to our attention and there was an a-ha moment for us both. Shopping virtually was just an extension of what we were already doing together. Why not help and guide those at home who have trouble shopping online, and support small businesses as the same time?
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Live shopping is just making its way to the U.S. We have learned so much through the process of doing our first few Live Events and realize it may take some time for people to catch on. However, we are most excited about being pioneers in this new space. We both have separate careers in fashion and TV so it’s the perfect marriage between the two. We hope to bring our collective knowledge and energy to create a new way of engaging with others. We are two new mom’s trying to juggle raising our girls and starting a new business in the middle of a pandemic, we would want people to know that we are bold, hardworking and always reaching for the stars.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We so miss being able to run around the city and go to our favorite spots to enjoy. Prior to Covid we loved taking a day hanging out on the East Side. DTLA The Row is great for shopping and a quick coffee, dinner at Bottega Louie for some pasta, drinks at Perch on the rooftop and if you like to dance La Cita is a must!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our husbands were an integral part in us launching TKWF. They helped research articles about virtual shopping and supported us when we were trying to bring our vision to life. Lizzy Seguin’s husband Mike was our insta husband and took photos early on for us. We also have been lucky enough to receive guidance from a few friends who own creative agencies or work in that space. They’ve continued to be a helpful soundboard when we’ve needed advice or direction.
