We had the good fortune of connecting with LJ Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LJ, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Consistency is the most important lesson I’ve learned and keep being reminded of throughout this journey. I’m constantly learning that no matter what product I release, if I stay consistent when putting in the work, that product will sell. Any amount of energy I put into the business will work for me in my favor. It won’t come easy but as long as I show up for myself every day, it’ll all pay off.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most proud of simply creating my brand from scratch and physically maintaining it all on my own. From designing to printing my merchandise. Being able to grow with my brand day by day and control the dynamic in which it develops. It’s nowhere near easy and this is just the beginning with plenty more progress to make. Overcoming the challenges I have encountered so far has been interesting yet possible. I say this because I’m still improving mentally as a business owner. I don’t always know everything necessary to make the absolute best business decision but I’m willing to unlearn, relearn, and apply that knowledge the next time. I want the world to know that Loren De Meche is in its own lane. It will reach the levels of popularity that I envisioned the moment I created it.
The only way is up and we are on our way!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love food so my favorite spots switch up a lot. Currently, my regular place to eat isn’t anything marvelous. It’s good ol’ Louisiana Fried Chicken. We’d definitely hang out at a couple black owned flea markets and support the local creatives. Leimert park is always a good vibe if you catch a festival or event for the weekend. If we’re in the mood for a smooth vibe, I’ve been wanting to check out this new day party spot called Vibe’n LA. Late night, another new spot I’ve been wanting to check out is Good Batch Hookah Lounge.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My entire support system from my parents, Latoya & Lorenzo, grandmother, Beverly, younger sister, Niya, & one of my very best childhood friends, Antaniece. From the very first day, all of these people believed in me no matter how radical the design or idea was. They have always been honest with their feedback and passionate about their support for me as an entrepreneur.

The love and appreciation I have for each and every one of them is beyond words.
