Meet Loli Laboureau | Creative Director and Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Loli Laboureau and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Loli, what makes you happy? Why?
Definitely this is the question that mostly got my attention. What makes me happy? A question that we’ve been all asked since we went to preschool. It took almost 27 years of my life to finally answer it. Having mental health is probably what makes me happy and allows me to enjoy those moments of happiness. My mental health includes boundaries, doing what I love for a living, spending time with the one I love and being grateful for the choses I’ve made in my life, even the ones I don’t necessarily agree on today.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I don’t know if there is something in particular that sets me apart from others, maybe that’s the opposite I’m looking for. I want to speak with images what others can’t say/ express. The good and most difficult thing about this is that there are no limits and as great as this may sound it comes with lots of challenges, including offending someone without the intend to. Probably that’s the most difficult part, as having something to say and mostly with sensitive topics we have to learn how to express them without being harmful. Being an artist is a full time job and it’s all about dedication and hard work.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I love this question! I want to dedicate my shoutout to those who had patience. I am a really stubborn person and dealing with me might not be as simple as I would love to but I met people who show me loved even on my worst days, those are the people who thought me how to love and how to take care of the things you love can be so gratifying.
