Meet Lorène Catala Boisvert | Biological Dentist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lorène Catala Boisvert and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lorène, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks is vital for growth in both life and business. I’ve seen this in my own journey. Moving to a new country without speaking the language or knowing the culture was a big leap, especially with the uncertainty of continuing my career as a high-end dentist. My divorce, at a time when my practice was still small, was another significant risk. But these challenges drove me to push harder. Through perseverance, I’m proud to own a successful practice in Santa Monica that I built from the ground up.
Taking these risks taught me not only how to achieve my goals but also how to be resilient and adaptable in the face of uncertainty. In the end, it’s the willingness to step into the unknown that opens up new opportunities and ultimately defines our success.

Please tell us more about your business. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
First of all, I would like to express my gratitude for the opportunity to share my journey. What truly sets our practice apart is the foundation upon which we operate: a commitment to minimally invasive dentistry with a biological approach in every aspect. We take the time to address the root cause of dental issues, ensuring that our treatments are both effective and holistic. We exclusively use high-quality, biocompatible materials because our patients’ well-being is our top priority. I am incredibly proud of this unique approach, and I’m always excited to share with our patients the difference it can make, whether in restorative dentistry, where we strive to be minimally invasive and preserve the vitality of teeth, biocompatible implant dentistry or in addressing gum tissue concerns.
From a business perspective, after our buildout in 2020, it took a couple of years to reach the goals we set for ourselves. It wasn’t an easy journey. I worked tirelessly, earning certification from the IAOMT to further enhance the quality of care we provide. One of the biggest challenges was creating and maintaining a stable, cohesive team, as well as generating the growth necessary to ensure a full schedule for both dental procedures and hygiene appointments.
To overcome these challenges, I focused on rewarding and retaining team members and implemented systems to keep patients consistently on the schedule. These efforts were crucial in building a practice where both patients and staff feel valued and motivated.
The lessons I’ve learned along the way emphasize the importance of keeping an open mind and welcoming our team members and patients with a positive attitude. Effective communication within the team is also vital, and we continually work on fostering a positive environment that enables us to grow and focus on delivering the best care possible.
What I want the world to know about our brand is that we are dedicated to delivering high-quality dental care in a gentle, respectful manner. Our approach is detail-oriented, and we take immense pride in the work we do, always striving to meet the highest standards for our patients and team members alike.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m thrilled to share some of my favorite spots and activities in Los Angeles! First, I would take them to explore Montana Avenue and Main Street in Santa Monica, both of which have charming boutiques and cozy cafes. A stroll down Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice is a must, followed by a visit to the picturesque Venice Canals, where we can soak in the unique architecture and serene waters. We’d definitely go for a bike ride or rollerblading session along the ocean, taking in the stunning coastal views. A hike in the Santa Monica Mountains would also be on the itinerary, offering breathtaking vistas and a taste of LA’s natural beauty.
Of course, no visit to LA would be complete without seeing Beverly Hills and the iconic Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood, where fashion and culture come together. If they’re up for it, the Hollywood Walk of Fame is always a fun, quintessential LA experience!
For a dose of culture, I’d take them to the Getty Museum to explore its exhibits and beautiful gardens. We’d also visit The Hammer museum, a little gem in Westwood, and the Broad Museum downtown, which offers a dynamic art experience. If it’s summer, I’d make sure we catch a concert at the Hollywood Bowl or the Greek Theatre to enjoy live music under the stars. And on a Friday night, we might head to LACMA for one of their outdoor concerts.
Lastly, Los Angeles is home to so many incredible restaurants, and I’d love to take them to my favorite spots for a true culinary adventure. Whether it’s dining at a trendy hotspot or enjoying a hidden gem, LA’s food scene never disappoints!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my mentors and loved ones who truly encouraged me to find my voice. Their guidance and support have been instrumental in shaping my journey. They pushed me to step out of my comfort zone, believe in myself, and embrace the challenges that come with growth. Without their unwavering belief in my potential, I wouldn’t have had the confidence to pursue my dreams and achieve what I have today. For that, I am deeply grateful.
