We had the good fortune of connecting with Louie Chapman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Louie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I think its timing and what I have to offer. All initial auditions in the casting process are now self tapes because of COVID. So what i’m offering is not only the ability to “put you on camera” but I am also a very good actor which makes me a very good reader. Without both of these things i don’t think the company would have generated as much success as it has.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

I am most proud of the fact that I get to do what I love every day and get paid for it, it feels like I am cheating. A soft open and then marketing was crucial to my success. So at first I only worked with friends then friends of friends then word of mouth and then when I felt fully ready, I hired someone to jump on board for marketing and from there growth has been exponential. It’s hard at the beginning when you have not built a portfolio and clients are few and far between. Do it for free at the beginning, you will learn so much from just working with people, but when it comes time to shine and you feel as if your in somewhat of a demand thats when i would challenge you to drop everything you have on marketing and start charging your markets price. Companies and Businesses are like children, they have stages and the first stage takes a lot of care and effort but when you think they’re ready to swim chuck em in ! For me the baby stage wasn’t hard, as the root of my business is acting and that is my passion, so it doesn’t feel like work, I love this.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day 1 – Runyon canyon in the morning for yoga and then a hike, after we would get a peanut butter and jelly protein shake from body energy club on Vine. Then catch up at mine Day 2 – Venice boardwalk then cycle to santa monica then go to the bungalow for a night out.
day 3 – urrth caffe , then melrose thrifting, possibly check out a movie at the new beverly cinema
day 4 – The grove, cheesecake factory and then the sofitel hotel for jazz night
day 5 – black rabbit rose ( they always have awesome artists performing on their intimate stage), then no vacancy, and then a nice little walk down to Davey Waynes
day 6 – Dockweiler beach for a bbq and fire pit
day 7- the getty.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shout out has to go to Alex aka @liquidverve. During the pandemic she was really wonderful, she would sit with me, help me brainstorm and tell me that I am going to strike gold even though I fully doubted myself and thought i was going to be made fun of. As she is an awesome photographer ( check out her work its so cool ) she helped teach me camera settings, how to light, what gear i’d need and how to use it. She really believed in me when I did not believe in myself at all. So not only did I learn a-lot from her but I received so much love, time and attention from her and i wouldn’t be here without her. Thank you Alex, thank you so so much.
