Meet Lourdes P. Estrada

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lourdes P. Estrada and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lourdes P., can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I am blessed to be in this field. As a licensed marriage and family therapist we work with members of the community who are seeking to better themselves. I am in a place, where I get to see them at their worst and see them flourish and peak to thier highest potential. The work of a mental health provider helps individuals find a balance between their struggles and their strengths.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Who is New Hope Family Counseling Center? well, thank you for this opportunity to be able to talk about who we are and what we do. We are a private group practice. Our main office is in Downey, CA. We do have a second office in Santa Ana, CA. We provide services in person and via telehealth in all California and now we are adding Nevada. We offer individual, family and couples therapy. We also offer therapy for court mandated cases and family reunification and immigration evaluations. We recently started to provide ADHD testing with our Psychologist Dr. Rashed. We offer services both in Spanish and English. We have a diverse group of individuals who have different specialties. Getting to this level of business and expansion was not easy. It has been difficult. I sought guidance from others who are successful. I began to set goals and review my steps to acquire those goals. Some of the lessons that I have learned along the way are that, dreams take action. It requires tenacity to make those dreams come true. I also learned that no one will get it done for me. I cannot rely on others to get it done for me. I need to be that driving force and see it through. I would like your readers to know that coming to New Hope Family Counseling Center (NHFCC) we understand that therapy is not a one size fits all, we know that you must feel connected with your therapist, we know that your time is valuable, and we will respect that. We have faith-based therapist here too, so for those who want to find a match with their religious preference, we have therapists who are catholic and myself as a Christian therapist.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, A must is the Griffin Observatory. It is so peaceful and beautiful there. I have kids so for me all my places must be kid friendly. So, if my friend has no kids, I will for sure phone in a friend who is single, that can give me good recommendations 🙂

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to extend this shoutout to my husband who takes on half the load with our three boys. To my parents and siblings who are part of my viallage when it comes to parenting. Because I have support I am able to do what I do.
