Meet Lovisa Ström | Actress

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lovisa Ström and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lovisa, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Chasing a career in entertainment isn’t easy, it takes so much hard work, patience, and determination. Often, the effort you put in doesn’t pay off immediately—it’s a long game. And I’d be lying if I said I haven’t doubted my choices along the way. Not because I question my passion or love for the craft, but because the business itself is undeniably tough and competitive.
In those moments of doubt, I always ask myself the most important question: Why did I start?
Two years ago, I was in Law School in Sweden, couldn’t imagine the life I have now. When I think about how much has changed in just two years, I can’t help but wonder: what could happen two years from now if I keep going? It’s so easy to get caught up in the grind and forget how far I’ve come.
Deep down, I also know I’d regret giving up—especially if the reason was simply that it’s hard or things didn’t turn out exactly as I hoped. Life is hard for everyone, full of challenges, but that doesn’t make quitting an option.
In the end, it all comes down to what makes you truly happy. Acting is one of the greatest loves of my life, and I feel so lucky to have found something I’m so passionate about. That’s what makes the answer simple: as long as I still love the craft, I’ll keep going. As long as it’s lights a spark in me, I’ll keep going.
What’s wonderful about life is that it’s always changing, and so are we. There’s still so much to explore, so much to discover, and so much to fall in love with. Perhaps someday, something else will light that spark in me—but for now, acting is where my heart lies.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Since moving to Los Angeles from Sweden, I’ve worked hard and learned more than I ever could have imagined.
It’s been a journey, and honestly, I’m not yet where I want to be—but that’s okay. Every day, I’m growing and developing as an actress, and I truly believe that’s the most important part of the process.
What I love so much about acting is that it’s a lifelong journey. You’re never truly done learning. As you get older, the more life experiences you gather—joy, heartbreak, love, and loss—and all of those moments become tools you can bring to your craft. Acting is about constant discovery, and if I could, I’d be in class every day.
I recently had the incredible opportunity to play one of the leads in the short film Veronika, directed by Priscilla Cerutti and written by Rachel Beltowski. This project was especially meaningful to me because it was produced, written, acted and directed entirely by a team of young women. Being on set was an intense and amazing experience. The film, a horror dark comedy, digs into the complexities of young female relationships, which is something I’m myself passionate about.
Playing this character challenged me to discover new parts of myself and bring them to life in ways I hadn’t before. It reminded me of how acting allows you to explore parts of your own personality and emotions that you might not otherwise encounter.
Looking to the future, I’m excited! Every day, I work hard, learning and also learning how to trust the process.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve been living in LA for almost two years now, and I’ve seen a lot, but there’s always more to explore. If my best friends were visiting, there are so many lovely places in Los Angeles I’d want to show them!
To start, I’d grab a matcha at La La Land, a place that I honestly think does something magical with their drinks. No matter how hard I try, I haven’t found anywhere else quite like it.
After that, it’s time for some sun. I love being outside, so we’d definitely head to the beach. Malibu is my favorite, but if they’ve never seen Venice Beach, we’d have to check it out. It’s got such a unique energy and lots to see and do.
You can’t come to LA and not experience some art! I’d take them to see a musical or a live theater show in Downtown LA—I’ve been a few times, and it’s always an amazing experience. We’d also check out the Walt Disney Concert Hall, which is as impressive as it gets for architecture and music.
Since we’re in LA, we’d also have to do the Universal Studios Tour and the Warner Brothers Studio Tour. Both are awesome, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at where the magic happens.
We’d end the day with some partying. I love to dance, so we’d spend the night out in West Hollywood or Santa Monica, both having awesome spots to party. Good music, good drinks, and good vibes.
For another day, I’d take time to explore Hollywood—strolling along Hollywood Boulevard to check out the Walk of Fame stars, and of course, we’d have to make our way to Griffith Observatory for the view of the Hollywood Sign. I’d also recommend Mel’s Drive-In in Hollywood. I’m not huge on burgers, but Mel’s Drive-In has a special place in my heart. It feels like stepping into a time machine—it’s got all the retro vibes of Old Hollywood, and I just love it.
There’s so much to do in LA; the list is long!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First off, I have to give the biggest shout-out to my family! Especially my brother and twin sister—both are super creative, smart, kind, and always have my back. I look up to them so much, and even though we’re across the world from each other, they’re always cheering me on.
I also want to thank my friends in Sweden who I talk to every day. They’re always there to listen when I’m going through tough times, but also to celebrate the good moments and help guide me in the right direction.
And last but not least, I’m beyond grateful for the friends I’ve made here in Los Angeles—from set, Lee Strasberg, and UCLA. We’re all chasing the same dreams, and there’s something really special about the bond we share. I feel so lucky to have created this little family here with people from all over the world. We’re in this together, and it means the world to me.
