We had the good fortune of connecting with Lucia Desimone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lucia, what do you attribute your success to?
I think a mindset that I have been applying lately in my life that has helped me succeed is to NEVER limit myself. If I can feel something is not quite right for me, I don’t force it, because I know that something even better is just around the corner.

I recently applied this mindset when I applied to work on some cruise ships and it wasn’t working out no matter how much time and effort I was spending on the auditions… I stopped forcing it and then I got hired to perform for 2 months on a beautiful island in Norway called Lofoten, at Lofoten Beach Camp. The job fit me and my style of singing way better and I was only able to get that opportunity when I stopped limiting myself, playing it small and I started shifting my focus from something that wasn’t 100% right to something else that was.

Trusting my intuition has also been a key factor in all of this, learning to ride the waves of life when something isn’t working out and remembering that ACTION + FAITH is always the way to go.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart in my art is that I combine spirituality/healing sounds with pop music.

I want people to heal without really knowing or looking for it. I am doing that by recording an album with sound bowls and other instruments that create healing waves, so you can perceive them without directly hearing them.

Each song will be representing 1 specific chakra, and healing that energy center specifically. For example the 4th song, the 4th chakra (which is the heart chakra), will be healing heartbreak- so the lyrics will talk about heartbreak while the listener will be simultaneously healing that part of themselves with the healing waves blended in the music.

I studied at Berklee College of Music from 2018-2022 and I majored in Songwriting, since storytelling has always been one of my biggest passions.

After Berklee, I started taking private music therapy sessions (The Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music) with an amazing therapist called Santiago Vila.
He helped me heal a lot of aspects of my life through music, so I wanted to do the same with my music!

My album has helped me heal as I was making it, so I hope it will do the same to others once it comes out too 🙂

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If it’s the first time that my best friend visits, I would take her to the most “know/famous” places first, such as:

-the Santa Monica Pier
-Hollywood walk of Fame
-Hike to the Hollywood Sign

Places to eat:
-Uovo in Marina del Rey
-Beachwood Cafe after the hike to Hollywood Sign
-Cafe 27 in Topanga
-Urth Cafe

If we have time to take a little short trip outside of LA I would take her to:
-Joshua Tree
-Lake Arrowhead
-Twin Peaks
-Pasadena

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to my mother, Cinthia Nicolini. She has recently gotten her degree in Music Therapy and her dedication to improving her skills, acquire more knowledge and helping other people have been my biggest inspiration.

She is a therapist of The Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music, connecting spirituality with music (just as I am with my album), and helps her patients discover their deep traumas through music in her sessions.
