We had the good fortune of connecting with Lucious Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lucious, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I founded 4Elite Training Academy, I thought about the impact I wanted to make on the community. Growing up playing sports, sports was everything to me and the impact that my coaches and mentors had on me was ever lasting, so I knew I wanted to give back in that same way. I wanted my business to be something I was passionate about and uplifted the youth.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
4Elite Training Academy is a sports-based organization that uses physical fitness and social emotional learning to bridge the education gap. We educate students on the importance of fitness, nutrition, mental wellness, mentorship, and education preparedness. I was able to get to where we are with the help of my mentors and putting me in front of the right people. Getting a program in school districts are extremely hard but our program allows students to build confidence, become more socially aware, and get fit while participating. Some of the lessons I learned was to always be prepared and have foresight of every possibility of what could go wrong. I would like the world to know that 4Elite is all about uplifting and educating the youth and by using sports its a great way to open their eyes to so many opportunities available.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many great spots in LA. First spot we would be to get street tacos, what’s visiting LA without getting some great al pastor tacos. I enjoy eating so I would definitely take them to brunch at Post & Beam for brunch then make our way to hang out at the Santa Monica Pier to enjoy a beach day. I would definitely take then to dinner at Arden Restaurant. Visiting the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a must because the vibe there is always interesting. Taking hikes in Runyan Canyon and Palos Verdes is definitely on the agenda as well.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out my wife, Ahriea Davis. She has been the rock in my life and the coach I needed in my corner. She worked hard while I got our business off the ground and now were closer to our ultimate goal.
