Meet Lulu Carey | Owner of SweetLove NJ

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lulu Carey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lulu, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
SweetLove started 2 years ago in the middle of the pandemic, when I finally decided to put everything that was in my mind into something tangible. I have always been creative and even though I didn’t have a business plan I had the time so I started working on building my small business, and I did it.
During this time I have been working really hard, doing a lot of research, building a list of clients, registered as an LLC, created my own website by myself. So it’s been great so far, a lot of learning in this process but happy to say that the results of hard work are paying off.

What should our readers know about your business?
SweetLove is everything you need to make your event special. One of my most successful services is my “Bloom Bar” which gives guests the chance to make their own flower arrangement to take home, they get to pick a glass vase and select flowers with my help. They take it home and let it “Bloom”. I try to make every event very special, I feel is a great responsibility and I never want to let a client down, this is a moment they will always cherish so I make sure every single detail is perfect.
What sets me apart from others, is that I personalize everything and that my prices are very fair.
I have learned so many lessons, I feel that every day you learn something else, and I take these challenges to learn and improve, because for me is all about growing and being our best.
I want the world to know that is never late to start your dream and building a brand. You don’t need big investments, but you do need time and to be dedicated. The support from my family and friends has been fantastic and I’m so grateful for that.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being so close to NYC there is always something to do and a new restaurant to visit. But New Jersey has so much to offer,I live in Chatham, a great town with fantasist restaurants, shops, ice cream places and we are also close to the beach.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in NJ has been increíble, I did a program with them for entrepreneurs and I will be lost without all their help and support, they are great at helping small businesses.
