Meet Luz Ozuna | Actress

We had the good fortune of connecting with Luz Ozuna and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Luz, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Spending time with the people I love makes me happy. Time is so fleeting and life moves so fast that time with your loved ones is priceless.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an actress. I only act. I guess that’s what sets me apart since almost everyone I know in the industry is a multi-hyphenate haha. I’m most proud of my tenacity. I trust myself and my intuition wholeheartedly. That translates in my acting because I’m certain of every choice that I choose to make. The choice might work or it might not, but I definitely had a good reason for making it.
I now have a several co-stars under my belt as well as my first recurring role in a TV series (SEAL TEAM on Paramount+). I have several lead and supporting roles in films that have screened at Sundance and TIFF. It sounds really cool all written out like this but they all took a lot of hard work to book. There are also SO many more roles that I almost booked, but those don’t go on your resume. The most important lesson I’ve learned after all of these years of auditioning is to perform your version of the character and then forget about it. Move onto the next audition. If you get a callback, great! but don’t waste away waiting for that callback or booking. Focus on the next item on your calendar. Call your mom. Text your best friend. Plan your birthday trip. Keep living your life. Auditioning and acting cannot be your whole life. I want the world to know me for my love for life, for my love for laughing, and for how I treat others, and the respect that I have for myself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Brunch – Escala (K-Town)
Dinner – The Little Door AND Laurel Hardware (both in West Hollywood)
Santa Monica Pier is always a good time especially for a friend who’s visiting
Catch a game at Dodger Stadium AND SoFi Stadium
Catch a comedy show at The Laugh Factory AND The Comedy Store

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my alma mater, NYU, for giving me the confidence, culture, and resources that made pursuing an acting career after graduating a no-brainer.
