We had the good fortune of connecting with M & M Events and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi M & M, every day, we know how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
We were a vendor at another market and saw how they managed their Events, and didn’t like it. After talking to other vendors as well, we realized we can host our own market in a way that supports small businesses like ours in a positive way. The fact that we are vendors too, has helped us to see what is needed in our vendor community. That is way we started M & M Events Market. To have a safe space for other small businesses to sell their products and to grow.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We started M & M Partys Rentals first. As a vendor we started working with pop-up markets. That is where we saw the opportunity to startup M & M Events Market. We are different from other markets because we care about our vendor. We want to see them grow. We support small businesses because we are a small business ourselves. We promote our vendors at the market as well as personally. If we hear of anyone in need of a vendor that sells coffee, for example, I tell them about our coffee vendor, bows and bros. If someone needs a cake made, we tell them about Ali’s delights. Our vendor family is about promoting each other and supporting one another.
Starting this market wasn’t easy. Especially right after starting the party rental business too. We are still new and learning from every market we do. The one thing I can say we got right from the beginning was the vibe of the market. When you come to one of our markets you can tell everyone is happy to be there and is having a great time. We have created a space that is positive and everyone can enjoy.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly, the best parts of my town is the culture. And best places to see that is at the markets they have. Not just the one we host but they have some all over the cities. During the day on a Thursday afternoon I would hit the Anaheim farmers market. Sunday morning there is a farmers market in Buena Park at the mall. And the last Sunday of the month at the Buena Park Elks Lodge is our market. That is where you will find some great food and merchandise to buy from local small businesses.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We have a huge support from our friends and close family members. They come out and support us at every market. And a special thanks to our newly acquired vendor family. Their support and loyalty has been amazing. They show up and work hard, even in the heat. We appreciate all that they do.
