We had the good fortune of connecting with Macea Whisettse and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Macea, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
In December 2019 days before Christmas, I left my full-time job where I had good benefits, a wonderful salary and the perfect schedule – I left it far behind!

On the surface, my life looked incredibly successful. I had a great job, money & opportunities that most people may have seen as a dream. But behind closed doors I was hiding a few secrets. The biggest one was I felt like there had to be more. I wasn’t happy and something was missing.

What should our readers know about your business?
This past year I’ve taken big leaps; stepping out of the perfect path and fearlessly doing what I love. But I had no idea how to get it done until I finally decided to accept that done is better than perfect.

I help women of purpose step into their calling by finding the clarity they need to heal and walk in confidence.

As a trauma support specialist, I use research-based anxiety management tools like Mindfulness, Positive Psychology and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to support clients in getting unstuck. I was stuck and silent for years, but then I received a wonderful gift. Who’s next?

I’m also a certified life coach and professional communication consultant so you can be sure that I have the training and experience to guide you toward having more inner peace, work/life balance and personal success.

I’m walking in my calling. As they say, the work chose me. I couldn’t sit by and watch my sisters continue to suffer if I had the keys to help them overcome adversity, rejection and trauma.

My clients represent all shades of women and all walks of life. They are single mothers, divorced, married; mothers of small children and adult children, alike; and they work in every industry imaginable – from the courthouse to the church, law enforcement, musicians, veterans and all in between. These women have purpose and a heart for service!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
On Day 2, after she’s had a chance to reset, I’d take her to Vida pour Tea Room in Greensboro, NC. We would sip on a custom blend of herbal tea, eat scones or danish and soak in tranquility. The next day we may visit my parents to say “hello” and afterwards we’d be free – no set itinerary. If we wanted to sleep late, fine. If we wanted to wake up early one morning and just drive, then fine. Whatever we do, we would find our happy place. Peace is always the #1 priority!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband, Bert, is the best partner in the world and has completely supported me from the very beginning of the entrepreneurial journey. No matter where life has taken us over the years, we’ve always done it together! He’s not only a husband and father, but he’s also my #1 fan, supporter, prayer partner, photographer, fashion consultant… and on and on.
