We had the good fortune of connecting with Teresa Nater and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Teresa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process in starting my business was the fact that I became vegan and had become more aware of what I was eating and putting on my body . So one day I decided to make a scrub and I loved how it made my skin feel and the fact that is was handmade and vegan was special to me . So I decided to sell a couple at first and after a while my sales started to pick up .
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe what sets my business special is that fact that I make all my products. I designed my website and designed and made all the labels for my products. I am a one women show but would love to expand my brand in the future. My coffee scrub is my best seller it really wakes up your skin and leaves it soft and supple. Even though I recommend everyone try to start their own business it is not an easy task. I had to deal with a lot of loss in the beginning of starting my business. I lose friends in the process and dealt with self – doubt from my self and others and a lot of sleep less nights planning and marketing for the next day . Even with all of that I am grateful and blessed to have a business to call my own because I know Veganchica will be come a great brand .
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to Old San Juan It’s ia Spanish restaurant in Lancaster Pa that sells amazing Spanish food . I would also take them to walk around in the city of Lancaster where you can shop , eat , dance , paint and just have. great time
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would definitely have to give a Shoutout to my kids and husband for always believing in me and helping me in anyway they can .
