We had the good fortune of connecting with Mady Kelly and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mady, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
I chose to be in an industry where I could positively influence others to create abundance in their life as well by showing up as the most authentic and best version of themselves through being authentic myself.

I grew up watching influencers and that helped me to some degree escape things I was dealing with at the time. They were pivotal in bringing out my creative side by learning how to do things like certain hairstyles and makeup. They built my belief in myself that I could create content also.

After having a spiritual awakening in 2019, my content shifted to being more spiritually inclined….affirmations, manifestations, intuitive guidance, and overall creating the life of your dreams.

Shifting into more authentic content really contributed to my success on platforms like TikTok where I’ve created a large spiritual and lifestyle community. Connection is truly the key to success.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I like to think what sets me apart is my creativity in intertwining my favorite artist’s music, lifestyle trends, and more with spirituality and openness. Also, being authentic, meaning I’m the same person offline as I am online, is a huge differentiator as well.

I am most proud of my ability to show up consistently in posting positive content even when life is lifing. Also, creating a community where my followers feel like they are truly my friend and always show up for me too is a testament to me doing what’s right and being true to who I am.

I was able to build my brand to what it is now by consistently doing the work of posting content, even when views were low and working other regular jobs. I continued to show up knowing that one day my consistency would pay off and it has in the best way. It wasn’t easy and I often faced hate comments, criticism, judgments, even being told by some extended family that I needed to get a real job. I learned how to tune out the negativity. I also realized through personal growth that judgement and criticism are often simply others projections of their own limiting beliefs.

I want the legacy I leave in the world to be that kindness and love conquers all. Also, that no matter your circumstances or upbringing, you can create the life of your dreams as long as you’re willing to believe in yourself and work hard despite all the obstacles that come with success. Lastly, I created a safe environment where all are welcome, supported, and loved.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Here’s where I would go and why:

Griffith Observatory – for the views
Runyon Canyon – hiking and views
LA Live- Lakers game and sushi at Katsuya
Melrose – thrifting and my favorite spiritual store House of Intuition, Tatsu Ramen
Malibu- beach and possibly seeing Jennifer Aniston hahaha
Hollywood Bowl and Greek Theater- outdoor concerts
Philz Ventura – morning coffee
Sweetgreen – Shroomami Bowl

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Kehlani was pivotal in my belief that I could create the life of my dreams. Her music and who she is as a person has always inspired me, and I even used her music in fashion lookbooks when I first started social media. She still inspires me to this day with her activism and expressing her story through her music. She inspires me to share more of my story in my content on my platform.
