We had the good fortune of connecting with Madylynn Snyder and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Madylynn, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my relational and authenticity-driven approach. I build real connections with the people I work with. Whether it’s in the therapy room, or when I’m coaching neurodivergent individuals, consulting with therapists, or helping organizations create more inclusive spaces, my focus is always on meeting people where they are with compassion, authenticity, and a deep understanding of lived experiences.

My work stands out because it’s rooted in lived experience, research-backed insights, and a clear mission to make therapy, coaching, and workplace environments more inclusive. I am passionate not just about educating, but empowering therapists, companies, and individuals to shift their perspectives and embrace their strengths.

Authenticity is at the core of everything I do. I believe that real change happens when people feel seen, understood, and valued, so I approach my work with openness and a commitment to genuine conversations. My success comes from fostering meaningful, lasting impact through connection, affirmation, and a deep commitment to neurodivergent empowerment. My advocacy, my drive to create meaningful change, and my ability to translate important ideas into actionable, inclusive practices are what allow me to make a real difference.

What should our readers know about your business?
Starting my private practice and establishing my brand as a neurodivergent therapist and consultant was both an exciting and daunting journey. It has required me to take risks, trust myself, and build something from the ground up without a clear roadmap. In grad school, we’re taught how to be therapists, but we’re not taught how to be business owners. There’s little to no education on starting a private practice, marketing our services, or creating a brand that reflects our values. On top of that, there’s a massive gap in training when it comes to working with neurodivergent adults, which meant I had to simultaneously educate myself while building a business that centered the very voices I never learned about in grad school.

It hasn’t been easy. There were moments of uncertainty, especially when navigating the financial and logistical risks of private practice. I had to learn how to market myself, create resources, and build a business model that was sustainable while staying true to my values (like accessibility and justice) and learning to take care of myself. I overcame these challenges by continuously seeking out knowledge, connecting with like-minded professionals, and leaning into my own neurodivergent strengths: creativity, passion, and a deep sense of purpose.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that there’s no one “right” way to do this work. Success isn’t about fitting into traditional therapy or business model, it’s about creating something that aligns with my values and serves the people I’m passionate about helping. I want the world to know that my brand and my work exist because neurodivergent people deserve better. They deserve therapy that actually understands them, workplaces that accommodate them, and a society that values their unique ways of thinking and being.

At the heart of my business is the belief that change happens through relationships, authenticity, and a willingness to challenge the status quo. That’s what drives me, and that’s what I hope to continue bringing to this field.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is one of my favorite questions of all time! I have a passion for hosting and love giving friends a peek into my life. Here are some of the places I would highlight:
HomeState- Anyone who knows me, knows this is one of my favorite spots! A Tex-Mex gem for comfort food, where we’d dive into some delicious breakfast tacos and my personal favorite, the cookie milk cold brew. Perfect for fueling up and enjoying some Southern hospitality in the heart of LA.
Huntington Gardens- A must-visit for a peaceful day wandering through beautiful gardens, checking out the art collections, and just soaking in the scenery.
Lost Parrot Café- My go-to for a cozy breakfast or coffee, with eclectic décor and a relaxed atmosphere that’s perfect for catching up.
My Office – I’d bring them by to show them a bit of my world- the work I do, and why it matters.
Mala Class (Highland Park)- For an unforgettable dinner with bold, spicy Sichuan flavors in a cozy spot with lots of plants. My personal favorites are the dumplings in chili oil and Dan Dan noodles. Kevin and his crew are so warm and inviting, and always have me feeling right at home.
Barcade (Highland Park)-After dinner, we’d hit this spot for drinks and classic arcade games- because nothing beats good food followed by some friendly competition.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a huge shoutout to the neurodiversity-affirming movement and my fellow neurodivergent therapists and colleagues who are doing the work every day to challenge outdated systems and create spaces where neurodivergent people can truly thrive. This movement isn’t just about awareness—it’s about real, meaningful change, and I’m constantly inspired by the passion, advocacy, and commitment of those pushing for a more affirming, inclusive world.

To my colleagues who are reimagining therapy, breaking down barriers, and showing up with authenticity and care—your work matters so much. Together, we’re not just reshaping mental health and workplace practices; we’re creating communities where neurodivergent people are recognized, valued, and supported for who they are. I’m grateful to be part of this collective effort, and I couldn’t do this work without the brilliance and dedication of those walking this path alongside me.
