We had the good fortune of connecting with Maggie Jenson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
What should our readers know about your business?
Magnify Progressive Wellness and The Magnify Method offer an Alternative Wellness Path, to include alcohol-recovery, to individuals that struggle with self-sabotage. We call it “Alternative” because it defies the logic of normal recovery, health and fitness, nutrition, or mental health strategies. Many other systems place the focus on the struggle, whereas Magnify helps you believe in and work towards the solution. We believe in powerful mantras like “Starve the Darkness, Feed the Light”, “What you give energy to grows”, and “Believe it ‘Till You See It”.
I help motivate clients to take action before they’re ready and to truly think and act like the person they want to become. Unfortunately, I find that most of the renowned strategies require individuals to accept their afflictions as part of their identity, as part of their essence, but that is not only destructive, it will quickly become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Even though you may not feel it, in order to overcome your current struggle, you must believe you are powerful, in-control, healthy, and fit.
Magnify helps individuals create this subconscious identity shift so that their ideal self becomes their reality effortlessly.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If someone from LA were to come to Las Vegas and not want to have to let things “stay in Vegas”, this is the Sober-ish Sin City Fun I would plan! +A beautiful morning hike on Lone Mountain or at Red Rock Canyons!
+Healthy brunch date at “Makers and Finders” in Downtown Summerlin
+Spa day at Red Rock Casino nearby
+Walking The Strip: with or without a drink; taking in the sights and smells, observing others and letting it sink in what “drunk crazy people” act like *this is very eye-opening!
+Adele at Caesars!
+Area 51 Experiences: hands-on fun that makes it easy to forget about “needing another drink”
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my Shoutout to a person that I haven’t ever given enough credit to: My husband. The traditional protocol for alcohol recovery dictates that you must separate yourself from anyone that drinks. Well, my husband, a United States Army Officer, is one person that defines “low-risk” drinking. Despite being afflicted with enormous PTSD following 5 combat tours in the Middle East, he possesses the ability to feel his pain without the need to escape with alcohol. In my early days of building my business and maintaining a sober(ish) lifestyle, he helped me feel more confident and always modeled the exact behavior I wanted to possess: the ability to never let anything outside of me control me. I had let alcohol control me for almost 16 years, and through my husband’s successful modeling, I saw how to always be in control of myself. Magnify would not exist and would not have helped hundreds of people along the way if it weren’t for the positive influence of my husband, Lt. Col. Brian Jenson.
